#3
1. Heat
2. Spurs
3. Pistons
4. Pacers
5. Suns (could slip into scrum, or not)
6.-9. = scrum of Houston, Sacto, Dallas, Denver
10. Cavs

But, as always, the offseason is only half over. This is like trying to assess which is going to be the best loaf of bread 10 minutes after throwing them in the oven.

Doesn't anyone else think the Bucks should be up there now, besides myself?? They made some good moves this offseason.. as well as the Grizz..

1) Spurs
2) Heat
3) Pistons
4) Kings
5) Rockets
6) Suns
7) Mavs
8) Cavs
9) Grizz
10) Bucks

#8
1.) Spurs
2.) Pacers
3.) Pistons
4.) Heat
5.) Suns
6.) Houston
7.) Dallas
8.) Sacto
9.) Denver
10.) Bulls

Team 2-4, 6-9 are as close to interchangable as it gets, though.

Edit - I knew I was forgetting someone. Bulls are easily better than the Cavs.

Right now:

1. Spurs
2. Heat
3. Pistons
4. Rockets
5. Pacers
6. Nuggets
7. Mavs
8. Kings
9. Cavs
10. Suns/Warriors

On Suns... right now they have a very weak bench, and could well stay that way. That's why they're down at ten. Where as all the others have benches and quality S5s, or in the Pistons case, a quality S5 with an okay bench. Also they're not gonna be as good as last year because of the losses of Q-Rich and Johnson and Hunter. But are in there because of the Amare/Marion/Nash trio and two solid players in Thomas and J-Jax/Bell (I'd figure Bell to start).

Sonics are way too uncertain to be in there, aside from Allen/Ridnour/Brunson/Fortson/Petro/Collison/Swift. Foward and center starting uncertainity, could wind up having Radmanovic and Lewis as the starting F combo. Their bench is another question with their horde of crucial free-agents (which was a huge part of their success last season), and their free-agents alone is another question. Evans/Potapenko/Murray/Radmanovic/Wilkins/Cleaves. Daniels/James, and soon to be Murray and Wilkins, gone.

Bulls there is questions and things to be done, same for Jazz and Grizz (though to a lesser degree for Grizz).

Lakers are top 15/20, but ten? No way. We'll see about that 2-3 months into the season.

I have to admit I didn't think of them, but I do believe they will be better than most think.

Spurs
Heat
Pistons
Pacers
---
Suns
Rockets
---
Mavericks
Kings
TWolves
---
Nuggets/Cavs/76ers/Warriors/Jazz

I can't decide. I'm looking forward to how the Jazz will do next season with Carlos Boozer on the Karl Malone work out plan (he's decreased his body fat to < 6%), AK47 strength training with weights to avoid future injuries, and Deron Williams.

I'll say, just on paper:

1. Heat (look at the roster, nuff said. But of course I wouldn't be too surprised to see a slip from last year)
2. Spurs (Always near the top, but its the Spurs, the every other year team, so...)
3. Pistons (Finals 2 years in a row, going for 3rd)
4. Kings (All-star quality at every position, deep, Peja in a contract year, will they finally play some D? I hope so.)
5. Rockets (T-mac, T-mac, T-mac, T-mac)
6. Pacers (How can you not be rooting for Rick Carlisle, the guy is a class act. Good team but I don't think people realize how much this team is going to miss Reggie.)
7. Dallas (Same team as last year, with the talent on this roster it could very well move up this list to number 3)
8. Suns (Amare/Nash = Malone/Stockton, or at least close to it. Bled a lot of talent though)
9. Nuggets (SG still a big ?, but not all that big. Quailty team
10. Warriors (Too much talent, nothing really new however. Always had talent, can they utilize it?)

1. Pacers (I love this team. One more year Reggie?)
2. Spurs (Might be even tougher.)
3. Heat (Chemistry issues?)
4. Pistons (I expect a post-Brown dropoff.)
5. Kings (Better than expected - hey, I'm optimistic. Plus I'm not convinced by...)
6. Suns (No Joe Johnson? No Q-Rich?)
7. Rockets (Good role-players on this team, but Swift won't make them more consistent.)
8. Cavs (Added another scorer and defense. I like it.)
9. Nuggets (Look for a Carmelo comeback. Still need a PG though.)
10. Mavs (Stackhouse no longer sixth man. Keith Van Horn AND Shawn Bradley. Yikes.)

1) San Anton - Champions, with no roster letdowns
2) Detroit - Dang! I wonder how good they will be with a real coach!
3) Indiana - Dangerous, with a chip, or two, or three on their shoulders'
4) Miami - Treaded water. Walker is a guilty pleasure, but he ain't that good
5) Houston - T-Mac may figure Yao out..."Time will tell." - A.E.
6) Sacremento -I think the Kings have something left in the tank
7) Dallas - Dirk
8) Phoenix (1 year wonder/Nash will be injured by mid-season)
9) Denver - They will be solid for a while with the talent pool there
10) LAC - Thinking outside the box...

lol, you actually think Warriors will be #4? You're dreaming. You didn't even include Denver, who have a very deep, talented, versatile roster, and Karl as coach. From their 2nd half season run, imagine a full season. Phoenix at #2 is a stretch, they're total roster isn't and won't be that strong aside from the trio left from last year, Houston's total roster is a lot stronger and balanced.

Warriors are gonna be better, but not at the top 5. R1 playoff exit for them.

1) San Antonio
2) Detroit
3) Indiana
4) Miami
5) Phoenix
6) Dallas
7) Houston
8) Chicago
9) Sacramento
10) New Jersey

with Cleveland, Golden State and Denver all lurking as possible Top 10s depending on how the coming months play out.

1) San Antonio (champs)
2) Indiana (they will come back with fire, Return of Ron)
3) Miami (Not quite sure about aquiring JW, but otherwise good offseason)
4) Phoenix (might slip further, the loss of JJ and Q hurts their potent offense)
5) Sacramento (w/ SAR and more defensive aquisitions, might be lower without D)
6) Dallas (Could be higher if they played D)
7) Houston (not impressed with the Swift aquisition)
8) Detroit (loss of Larry brown is gonna hurt)
9) Minnesota (Terrible offseason so far, but they still have KG and now Madsen for 5 years);)
10) Denver/ Cleveland- Toss up.

Sidenote: It' crazy how Minnesota, has just comletely fallen off everyone's radar, they used to be the team I feared the most, even moreso than the Spurs.
