Can't pay your backup PG 8 million dollars a year. That's what Lin makes.
I think Lin's contract is over at the end of this year. So I don't mind spending some Vivek cash for a better backup PG in this case

Getting furious after one game is not a rational way to deal with problems.
Lin would make perfect sense as our backup PG. I would love to trade for himI think Lin's contract is over at the end of this year. So I don't mind spending some Vivek cash for a better backup PG in this case![]()
Not convinced that Jeremy Lin is the answer (and he is extremely expensive). He would not be happy coming from the bench and he is TO prone as well. I actually think that there is no reason to decide in a hurry. Let Ramon play and figure it out how to stop turning the ball over and moving the ball. Getting furious after one game is not a rational way to deal with problems. Sure, it's not one game, but still it is only 15 games into the season. There's plenty of time before the deadline.
Speaking about Dallas and AJ Price...AJ Price also just got released today. Been playing well for the Sixers. Thing is...he's been around for about 5 or 6 yeas himself, and he's never been any better than Sessions, in fact mostly worse. So...just not sure we can find the guaranteed stability we would need at that position off the waiver wire. A trade for a Steve Blake character might do it, but you need somebody else who does not need that player.
I'm sure Dallas would cheerfully give us Fat Felton.![]()

I don't think that Sessions is bad at all. However, I think his skillset is not best fitted to the Kings style basketball. I think Sessions would do better in a run and gun type of team. The Kings play a relatively slow and physical game. I'm trying to think if, when the Kings team starts to know each other better, the team style and Sessions game start to converge or the opposite. He must know that he can't supercede Collison, because Collison is the faster of them and way better ball handler.
Why settle for Lin who's going to be payed $8M to be a back-up when you can get the seemingly and suddenly unwanted Lance Stephenson ($9M/year for 3 years) for almost the same price?Lin is an ender much like how Derrick Williams is. I would much rather pay Lin to be my backup for a year than watch any more Derrick Williams and Ramon Sessions.

IMO, you get Stephenson and suddenly we're a contending playoff team. Defense, offense, ball-handling/assists, 3-pt threat, name it and you got it. Plus, the media loves him with his never-ending on-court drama/antics. Instantly, the Kings becomes relevant.
PDA already made early inquiries according to my insider. So, prepare to rejoice if this remote possibility happens.I was gonna bring him up but isn't he a idiot the locker room.
If PDA does do a trade for him I won't be mad though he brings defense/toughness/and can create off the bench. He can also guard 1-3.

If Stephenson is in fact "suddenly unwanted" after signing his big free agent contract, you can bet that there's a reason. He has a "bit of a checkered past" that goes beyond blowing in LeBron's ear in the Playoffs. For instance:

So...we've got allegations of 1) sexual assault on a 17-year old and 2) severe assault and battery of his girlfriend. These are several years old, but still. Dude is a bad apple. I've got zero interest in Stephenson, and I would find it impossible to root for him if he were a King.
It will be a very good experience for coach Malone to deal with a real headcase. I think Malone can work wonders for Stephenson because he seems like a real player-coach.Yeah, I was hoping that Stephenson finally had his act together. I remember watching him at Cincinnati where he was three times the headcase that Cousins was at Kentucky. There were a few times when he got upset with the ref, and he just walked off the court while play was still going on. I remember his coach shoving him back onto the court. No one ever doubted his ability, but he's always marched to a different drummer.

Are you sure Bird got fed up with him or did they not want to match that contract offer he got?Stephenson couldn't handle it in Indiana where they were one of the best teams in the league. No way he comes here and accepts a role off the bench unless we medicate him. The guy is talented, but his focus has to be one of the worst in the league. Larry freaking Bird loved the guy but even he got fed up with him. If problems > talent, then you stay away! Cuz had some minor issues, but this guy is almost at a Ron Artest/World Peace level. No thanks
A little bit of both. Bird saw the talent, but didn't want to match the contract either. He was also annoyed by some of his antics though. Are you sure Bird got fed up with him or did they not want to match that contract offer he got?
It will probably have to be a deadline trade to give him time to reflect, how nice it is to start for a solid lottery team. He fills the stat sheet but unless he's on a stacked team with elite defense none of that results in wins when he's shooting sub 40% and hogging the living crap out of the ball. Lance is Tyreke with serious mental issues, if we didn't want to keep Tyreke why would we want to get Lance?Lance is a POS....Who happens to be able to fill a stat sheet with rebounds and assists.
I'd rather we go for T-Will, who is a nut..But less of a POS...
I was a fan of Sessions when he was at Nevada, and after his first year in the NBA, he looked like a player with a great future. Not sure what happened, but this year, he flat out stinks. He was hired to do a job, and his job is to do what the team needs. It's not the teams job to conform to how he likes to play. He's a black hole at times simply driving, or taking shots at very inopportune moments. Like in the Houston game, when we had fought our way back to within a couple of points and Sessions brought the ball down the floor and with 19 seconds left on the shot clock took a quick off balance three, which resulted in a fast break the other way and a basket. It killed the momentum we had going. Setting aside his talent, his physical abilities, or lack thereof, he's making stupid decisions, and its hurting the team, and the second unit in particular. He's making no one better, and that's his job. Mark December 22nd on your calendar. That's the first day he can be traded. Sessions makes McCallum look like an all star.
