Quick! Call the Hornets!

I'm thinking they'd let JJ go dirt cheap... It's times like this when I absolutely HATE the CBA!!!

Does that "no multi-player" trade rule exclude draft picks?

Not that I, personally, necessarily want Jackson back, anyway...

Wish it could be done...but I think that the Hornets got JJ to help win some games...even as bad as their record is at the moment. It would take something very off the wall and miraculous for us to get JJ back...as much as us Kings fans would love to see it.

We can SEND multi-player (including draft picks) he just can't be PACKAGED with other players.............I think.....darn it, now I am going to have to look it up

If we could get JJ for lets say... Kevin Martin and... Daniels...and a draft pick... I would do it in a heartbeat... I think the Hornets might even consider it...

Apparently, multi-player deals can be done if multiple teams are involved:

Detroit acquired two-time All-Star Rasheed Wallace on Thursday, Feb. 19, in a three-team deal that sent Chucky Atkins and Lindsey Hunter to Boston and Bob Sura, Zeljko Rebraca and Chris Mills to Atlanta. Detroit also landed Mike James and parted with two first-round picks.

You're missing the point.

JJ has NOT reported to the Hornets and it's being widely discussed via the media and on the Rockets message board that JJ is very unhappy about the trade and saying he'll retire before going to New Orleans.

Hence my post. I know JJ would agree to come back here. So, if we offer the Hornets ANYTHING they'd jump on it because the rest of the deal is dead if JJ retires...

Teams involved were under the cap and not bound by the exception rules? Ah HA! Wallace was traded by HIMSELF, not packaged with others. The other players came from the other teams, no restrictions on that.

So, the team acquiring the player can send multiple players/draft picks, as long as they don't get multiple players/draft picks in return?

Near as I can tell, there are no restrictions on the acquiring teams end on what they can give up to acquire the ONE player (aside from the usual salary match yada yada) yes.

That so? Well then, let's trade him for Daniels and draft picks; I mean, if the Hornets' backs are really against the wall...

I wonder if other teams are trying to send their lesser players. It may raise the ante.

We do have an edge in that JJ would LOVE to return here, especially if it meant meeting the Rockets at some point in the playoffs and being able to stick it to them.

:D

If we can't get him for Daniels and picks, we should step away from the bargaining table; I didn't want to see us sacrifice Wallace's potential to keep Jackson last time (even though it turned out to make no difference, since Adelman wouldn't play Wallace), and I don't want to see us sacrifice our future (Martin, Evans, Barnes) to get him back.

Martin, Evans...no...Barnes...maybe.

Agreed.

Barnes = no as well. Not worth giving up a guy who should, at worst, be a solid bench player for years for an aging journeyman who might have two good years left in him, but probably doesn't.

you cant trade a guy who has sactowns finest on his arm thats showing disrespect. but if we could trade matin and evans for him i would do it in a heartbeat.

So Barnes is in a slump right now. Give him time.

But how can you talk about trading Daniels and Kevin??? Give them a chance! From what I've been told from die-hard fans, Adelman doesn't play his rookies that much. I don't understand why you would want to trade your future (as Mr. Slim so adequately put it).

Is Daniels our future? Honestly, I thought he was competing with Kevin for the 12th man spot.

OH - Don't take it personally. They do these trade talks things all the time. We definitely want to see your nephew stay in a Kings uniform and blossom into the next Doug Christie!!!

:D

The BEST offer would include Evans, Jackson if he were healthy (although I am not sure that trading Jackson for JJ makes any snse at all) I would however trade Daniels, and even Evans... nothing persoanl but I am not sure taht Flash has any value over pics at this stage.

I am not sure exactly what the palns for JJ are but I am guessing that they did NOT get him with plans to turn arround and trade him but IF JJ is clear that he will NOT play then it becomes a bidding war of sorts.

He hasn't even played!

It's all pretty much just speculation at this point. I just thought it might be a little more interesting to discuss...

JJ could report tomorrow, with every intention of playing for the Hornets.
