Wow! Did Bill Russell really coached the Kings? What record did they got that year?
I'm a Kingsfan since '99 also. Been a Bulls fan since MJ era. Know nothing about the Kings, didn't even know a Sacramento team exists that time in the NBA. Only I heard a name Kings, but not the city! As i recall, i heard also the name Abdul-Rauf or Abdur-Rauf, was he a Kings? That guy who was I think fined for not standing in a US anthem. I saw some highlights of him, and he can shoot! I like his skills. If I followed his game, probably I would be a Kingsfan since the mid-90's! hehe
But I think, the arrival of J-Will really help this team become an exciting team, and correct me if I'm wrong, the following year after the lockout, the Kings national broadcast was up like about 10 times more appearance since the history of that franchise! Not also J-Will, but the addition of Vlade, C-Webb, and Pedja make the team a fun to watch. The brilliant moves of Petrie also took this team to a next level, and become a playoff team since then. With the BenchMob, those highlight passes, fun basketball and to the WCF, those memories really are priceless.
And as new players are now piling in this team, I think it will never be the same! Just like the explosiveness of Webber, it will never be the same.
But still, as a fan being around and rooting for like 6 yrs now, those memories will always be there, and you can't replace this team! Kudos to those people who are fans since '85 for rooting them on, even when that time they were a losing team. More props to those fans, for believing them and loyal to their team.
The fans of '99 batch, are there for you '85, we will continue believing with this team, come what may, losing season, winning season, changing lineups, etc.. We will always believe and will be a Kingsfan! Forever
