Oh, you misunderstand. It wasn't your sensibilities I was worried about. I have an image to maintain and had I actually posted the comment that first crossed my mind, that image would have been irrevocably harmed.

what grossed me out was that one of the people who i caught not washing their hands ... gave me a handshake a few months earlier. i felt really dirty.

Imagine watching someone not wash their hands after going to the bathroom...then watching that same person grab ice out the ice machine barehanded. 1st off it's disgusting enough to fish out the ice barehanded, but knowing this person did not wash their hands was just the cherry on top. I really wonder about some people.
