Projected numbers for 07-08

Because rebounding isn't pivotal? There is no one who's clear and away better than Kenny, nor even a little better than Kenny. Yet Kenny won't play, at all. He'll be bought out, he'll be waived, don't worry. Lots of players like Kenny has been bought out or waived, guys who are their teams best rebounder, on a team with no rebounder. A team that needed rebounding so bad they signed Mikki Moore, who's never been a rebounder in his career. Talk about no future with the team, Moore has no future with the Kings.

The only obvious is that Kenny has been the Kings best rebounder.

My favoritism comment wasn't aimed at you. It was at the ridiculousness of the board the past few months. Kenny Thomas won't play over guys who have done nothing in their careers because... I don't like him.

The other thing obvious characteristic about Thomas is that he has got to have the lowest basketball IQ in the league. He is beyond mentally challenged. His basketball stupidity more than makes up for his rebounding. And then of course you have his well-known selfishness and poor attitude...I won't be sorry to see him go, that's for sure.

Some figures from last year.

Per 40 minutes
KT: 9.4 pts, 10.7 reb, 2.2 asst, 1.2 stl, 0.5 blk, 2.5 TO
JW: 15.7 pts, 13.8 reb, 0.2 asst, 0.6 stl, 1.9 blk, 1.8 TO

Other stats
KT: FG: .482----FT: .513---PPS: 1.09
JW: FG: .614---FT: .365---PPS: 1.49

I think it's pretty realistic for Kevin to go for 47ppg, 17rpg, 8apg, 2.5spg, 0.7bpg. The apg may be a little bit high though.

Kenny played 23 minutes and grabbed 6 boards. He should more than likely be around there again this year. It's not like we picked up rebounders this off-season.

.

Williams played about 12 minutes a game and averaged 4.5 per game.. Who would you rather have? A guy that is a better rebounder, that can block shots, and is YOUNG, or KT? I will take Williams.

And of course the bench guys typically play against other bench guys, so the projected averages can be very misleading.

I used to think that too, it's been the conventional wisdom since the dawn of time. But recently at least 3 different people have done studies, analysing what happened when NBA players had their minutes increased. None of them found the conventional wisdom to be accurate. Due to the fact that some of those parties get weird about links or quotes, I'm not going to say anything more on the subject, but it's a belief you might want to re-examine.
