I agree but think releasing the amount of money raised was a mistake. It feels extremely small and makes the press conference look desperate.

19 different LOCAL people stepping up in three days to pledge $1 million each is NOT small. It shows that there are local people, in addition to the big money guys. I don't get a feeling of desperation at all.

I honestly think sometimes that people look for reasons to be negative. I'm not going down that road, now or ever.

He introduced a four-step procedure, with the first step being local support. He's announced the local support today. He said the second step, the "whale," will be announced shortly.

Johnson has run very successful campaigns with the help of some very bright strategists. He's doing the same thing right now.

I've always appreciated the positive approach you take to this team, even with all the down times. But from a business perspective announcing that you have $19M from some of the wealthiest people in sac is not a big move. It simply isn't. They could have left the amount unstated or just waited for the big whale.

Because we couldn't do a thing until the Maloofs admitted the Kings were for sale. If you recall, Ron Burkle would have purchased the Kings two years ago but the Maloofs adamantly insisted they would NEVER sell the team. Until the Seattle deal was actually announced there was no confirmation that they were selling.

Completely disagree.
This felt extremely small time. $19 million is peanuts and I'm sure the seattle group feels pretty dam confident after this press conference that they don't have much to worry about. KJ should have held off until he had a guy with substantial (billions) money in the bag.
