Somehow I think many a rookie of the year has somehow managed to survive the hype, Blake's doing fine, and they already trotted out commericals for him, had him jump over a car, and resigned his best friend to a $10mil a year contract largely because he was his best friend.

riiiight...tyreke and blake griffin are comparable in both presumed work ethic, personality, and talent.

Tyreke is not perfect, but he is still extremely talented. People say he dribbles too much, but what's his talent? It's his dribbling skills. He has one of the best handles in the game (watch some of those summer videos). He's just playing to his talent. If he could learn to shoot off the dribble, he'll become a superstar. His set shot is okay but he can't shoot off the dribble. His shot off the dribble is just plain ugly and unreliable. I don't know if it's because he doesn't have enough hops or if it's just bad technique. I hope Jimmer can help him out in that department.

I don't think I will ever understand the reason why, but it is not uncommon for players to be one-dimentional shooters. The NBA has been littered with good spot up shooters that can't shoot off the dribble, and good shooters off the dribble that can't catch and shoot (Beno is a good example of the latter). I have watched this phenomon go on for years and can't figure it out. If you can shoot, you should be able to do both IMO. I know that some of the dynamic are a little different, but it shouldn't make that big of a difference. I hope that Tyreke can figure it out well enough to make other teams have to respect his shot, but only time will tell.
