The Kings take a .500 record into December. We repeat: Sacramento is a .500 team despite losing Kev Martin to a wrist injury. With apologies to anyone else worth nominating, this is your Surprise Team of November.
its only a surprise to people who dont watch kings games or didnt look at their schedule... how many of us actually thought that this wasnt going to happen this month?
We aren't just the surprise team of november, we're the surprise team of the season. Pretty much every other fanbase considered the Kings to be the worst team in the league once again (even though it requires simple thought to realize why that wouldn't be so). Kings fans knew we were better... not this much better. I don't care how crappy the teams that we are facing are, last year we would be 3-13 regardless. I would like to see us go against a few more "elite" teams to gauge exactly where we are though.
we've won one road game so far utah (9-7) they've won one more game than we have. we've split wins with all of the teams that were just as good as we are, houston, memphis and okc. we've lost every other road game and have beaten nothing but bottom dwellers at home... okc is the 2nd best team that we've beaten...
The Kings suck. I knew they would do this good this season before I was born. Any Kings fan should have known this.
They have played teams with a combined record of 5-19,543. And only one win was on the road. The Kings are in for a rude awakening in about 3,452 minutes. Every team that was in the league last year was better than the Kings but the Kings are splitting games with the teams that are just as good as them right now.
The Kings have made no strides whatsoever, I have no reason to believe that anything is going to change until that idiot Petrie is fired, he can't make a good trade to save his life and his draft picks were so-so but the players don't play for the Kings anymore so that means he failed in the draft anyway.
Why am I even a Kings fan? I'm going to move to LA or Boston and root for one of those guys. Screw this being a Kings fan crap. All I ever am is pessimistic and unwilling to give these guys a chance. I yearn for a large market team with star attracting qualities and big bucks arenas with all the amenities and fake fans to fill it up.
Screw this, I'm going home.

And this is a post of the exact OPPOSITE of how I feel about these guys. I'm in love with NBA basketball again, after it broke my heart the last couple of seasons. Thank the Lord for this team.
You had me at, "The Kings suck."
lol
I think this team has put the FUN back in fundamentals.

Lakers have only won 5 games against team with a record of over .500. The Kings have beaten 3 of those 5 teams.
I think the Kings are right in the middle of the league. Good enough to be favored against bad teams, competitive against mid tier teams, not good enough to beat the good teams. The Kings have already made a HUGE leap ahead of last years team and they have done it without Kevin Martin. I still believe that if we can successfully reintroduce Martin into the starting lineup and we acquire a defensive big man...we will be a playoff team.We aren't just the surprise team of november, we're the surprise team of the season. Seriously, with all due respect, I'm just an overzealous Kings fan with a strong opinion. I've followed these guys since they came here and I was 6. My dad had season tickets and I grew up 2 doors down from a Kings player who eventually was traded and then sold the house to another Kings player who, along with his family, still live in it. So one must understand, I GREW UP with this squad, I watched Ricky Berry and Kenny Smith play Tecmo Bowl, I had Michael Jackson and Tank Thompson and Rodney McCray shooting hoops on the hoop in my parents front yard.HMM for a while there you sounded a lot like a certain he who shall remain nameless![]()
Which is exactly why we shouldn't be screaming "playoff run" just yet. Like I said though, we are vastly improved over last season. Tyreke is a baller, Jason Thompson is on the road towards all-star PF status, Beno is earning his contract, Casspi is way ahead of schedule, Greene is coming out of his shell, Sergio could be a valuable piece and has good potential, Brockman is a beast, and most importantly the Kings are hitting shots, playing defense, and hustling. It doesn't matter who you go against, those elements are going to remain the same.
