Postgame Quotes-vs. Milwaukee

Kings Coach Rick Adelman

“It was a strange game – not what I expected. They are a very good offensive team and they couldn’t make a shot, we couldn’t make a shot. It just got to be like it was pulling teeth – there was no energy at either end of the court. We finally got that spurt in the fourth quarter but it was just one of those games you’ve got to keep fighting through. I told them at halftime that someone’s going to get a spurt and win this game. Fortunately in the fourth quarter we got that spurt and opened it up. We’ve got one more in this home-stand – let’s see if we can’t finish it off by getting all five.”

“I thought early Brad missed three or four or five shots that you just thought were going to go down, but then as the game progressed Doug did a great job of just getting to him every time he caught the ball and putting pressure on him and making him work to get his touches. He’s a great offensive player and you’ve got to give Doug credit because Van Horn got it going a little bit but Doug never allowed Redd to get it going – he’s the one that really can just put them over the top.”

“I thought in the fourth quarter we did some nice things offensively as far as trying to attack certain things. Chris did a nice job of passing the ball in the fourth quarter. With Peja, I think it’s just a matter of having some patience as to when he gets the ball. I think sometimes he gets it, and if he doesn’t have the shot then use our big guys and keep moving. He had a big shot for us in the fourth quarter.” “We did enough to win the game and sometimes you’ve got to feel good about that – knowing that both teams struggled but we got the win.”

“It was just as ugly playing it as it was watching it. I was one of the reasons – we were all one of the reasons. We had one of those nights but that’s what good teams do. I’m not really worried about it. I hate these types of games but the key is trying to get the win. If you play a great game and shoot 90%, it’s not going to happen the next game. We look at it like we played ugly, but we could’ve given up – but we stuck in there.”

“You just have to keep playing your game – that’s all you have to do. There was an MVP a couple of years ago that shot 33%, so you’ve got to play your game. So when you start listening to all the other people, you start messing up your flow. If Peja misses 8 in a row and he stops taking the open shot, it’s going to mess up our flow.

“The shots started going in for us; we picked up our defense. At first the shots weren’t going in, so we picked up the defense, ran the ball a little bit and tried to get some easy shots. It looked like they were trying to slow us down.”

When asked if they are ready for the Rockets:
“We’ll worry about that when the time comes. We’ll shoot in practice tomorrow, we’ll worry about it when the game comes.”

Milwaukee Bucks

Coach Terry Porter
“I don’t think that there was a lot of sloppiness but just a lot of missed shots. Early on both teams missed had quite a few easy opportunities and it came down to them making plays and making shots. Down the stretch we couldn’t make the shots. There were a couple of loose balls at some key times that they were able to get, then close the gap.”

“I don’t recall us turning it over a lot and they got some long rebounds. We had shots, but we would just miss them.”

“We wanted to stay close to Peja cause we knew they were going to be going to him. A couple times would crossed the match up and he made some three’s on us.”

Michael Redd
“We shot the ball bad tonight, but we played well most of the game.”

“They are at home, so they got the crowd, so they begin to make shots and make plays. They just made plays down the stretch. We can’t let them make runs like that. For them to get the lead and keep the lead throughout the game – that can’t happen.”

“A tip here, a tip there, our record could easily be over .500. But it’s not that way. We’re challenged with a difficult task ahead of us. We are going to keep playing hard.”

Keith Van Horn
“I think when we get the lead, we really need to get a killer instinct in us. I think it’s happened to us a couple of times this year, where we had the lead up to the 2nd half, and we don’t put teams away. I know they are at home and a good team, but I really think we need to have a killer instinct.”

“I think we missed some good looks, but we also rushed shots and took some bad shots and I’m sure the same goes for them. They just happened to score some more points than we did tonight.”

Just like Webber to blame everyone else but himself and not want to give Peja shots. ;)
