Post game thoughts 1/15

Oh. My. Goodness.

Seriously, this is becoming detrimental to my health. I’d rather deal with a blowout.

Some people know that I’m not a big fan of Corliss getting a bunch of minutes and this game is indicative as to why. He was largely a non-factor when he was in the game. (Except, of course, for the illegal screen, but I think that was a foul that shouldn’t be called. If it was even a foul.) Today was the yang to Saturday’s yin.

Eddy Curry is a large human.

I don’t agree with a lot of what Mussleman is doing, but at least the play with Martin and Shareef on the same side of the floor to put the Kings up by one with 40 seconds to go or so was the right call. I just wish he would do more of that…making the right call.

Speaking of not making the right call, what is the deal with starting Mo Taylor? Why not go back to starting Kenny and Shareef?

And Douby and Garcia are getting three or four minutes a game. What is the point?

Do the Kings win this game if Miller plays? I know this is a worthless hypothetical but with so many games being missed by key players, it is hard not to think about these things after such games. And then punch myself in the face.

It was good to see Justin Williams get in the game and do something. His first meaningful minutes and he actually produced how he was supposed to produce. I wonder if the rest of the team can start doing that…

Post game thoughts

Liked the post. The same questions we were asking. Musselman leaves us asking a lot of questions, especially about rotation of players. Really liked the play of the young Williams.

Artest is not very smart. Musselman can not control him. Um---maybe something should be done considering it has cost the team AT LEAST five games this season.

I swore not to watch today, but did. How stupid to be continuing to do nothing. They don't care. Tickets are sold or whatever. Nobody cares.

cept the fans, i guess.

Kevin Martin played one of his better games in a while.

WHAT is up with Bibby? His Jeckyll and Hyde performances this year are frustrating.

...Salmons too, for that matter. His reversion to an inability to connect on drives and medium rang jumpers is almost as frustrating as all those lazy post entry passes.

You can't really blame Muss for his inconsistent line-ups. It's only 35 games into the season and EVERYBODY knows it takes at least 50 to really know your team.

Young Mr. Williams needs more playing time.

Muss did have a couple interesting floor combos. I really liked the line-up of Martin, Salmons, Artest, 'Reef and Williams.

Figured today it had something to do with wanting to give the kids a few minutes to play in front of their family/friends. Stupid, though. Not enough time to have a real chance of getting into the flow of the game and making an impact.

That illegal screen wouldnt be called if it was subtle like half a foot over the line, this one was apparent. I wouldnt blame corliss for this, it is Martins fault actually who was running wide of the baseline and should have come closer to the line so that corliss can set a better screen. Martin dragged corliss out with his way of running behind the basket and the play was for corliss to set the screen there and he went for it.

Ron demanding the ball in the last posession, Mike wasnt there to be seen, dont know if that was the plan. After taking the ball past midcourt one screen and boom the teams worst three point shooter takes the shot and clank, there was 13 secs left on the clock and thats the only play they can design. I suppose the coach would have some designed plays for these situations that they would use even without taking a timeout, or calling a number for Martin would have helped who had just hit the three to take the lead

Totally agreed, Muss cannot control Artest. His attempted heroics down the stretch were pretty predictable, given he is playing in his hometown.

I thought this was actually a good game to watch, from a competitive point of view. The sad part is we are competitive at the same level as the Knicks.
