you know, whenever we do win it all, it's always going to be a little bit sour, knowing that cwebb, vlade and doug won't be around for it, knowing that we never got to take down the shaq and kobe lakers, knowing that we can never go back to 02 (or 03 with a healthy webb) and win it all when we should have. those guys will always be the champs to me, and i dont know if i'll ever see a team that i like more than the kings of old. so having faith that the sacramento kings franchise will one day win it all can only take me so far.

While they may not be ON the team when we finally win a championship, they will always be known as a good reason the team ever got on the right road to the championship. In my mind any trophy the Kings get will be a tribute to what they started. They were truly something very, very special back in 2002-2003 and I feel very privileged to have been able to be even a small part of the magic.

A championship might be just a tad bittersweet, but it will also be a way of honoring the ones who got us believing we were even good enough for a championship in the first place. Not just hoping for it, but BELIEVING it with every fibre of our beings. That doesn't come along very often...
