I finally watched all the videos. It is difficult to know what to say. You couple CDs (and everyone behind him) effort with everything else going on including the ad on Times Square and it all begins to add up. No single event in and of itself will sway the BOG but they will hear of all of this including the city council meetings, KJ, the diverse collection of potential owners, etc. How can the BOG crush the feelings of so many dedicated fans? For everyone that is seen publicly, there are thousands who are more passive in being visible but just as passionate. That's just the nature of the beast.
If things go wrong, I will survive and at my age, it will not be the worst thing to happen to me this year. On the other hand, there are so many passionate people much younger than I who can be robbed of something very important. Heck, my kids and grandchild will be robbed of something very important. I remember going to some practice when the Kings first came to Sacramento and I'm not even sure if the barn was already built. Lots of very tall people!!! It was a good father and son thing. There are many special family moments that centered around basketball and I don't know if they would have happened without a pro team.
The mayor of OKC spoke very well of the importance of a team. He and KJ ought to get together. They seem to have a similar understanding of their role in a smaller city. This is an interesting phenomena that is happening and although the final chapter has not been written, there are many stories that have been generated in the last couple years and we can all be proud. No one can take our memories away. No one can take our passion away.
The NBA needs us.
