Playing on the ground

Hey, I've just registered to the board but I've been coming in here to read posts for a while now. But I want to talk about last night's game against the Jazz. Maurice Evans suffered a nasty fall and it was totally uncalled for. There were only 2 minutes left in the game and Boozer had to foul him. It reminded me of what happened earlier this week to Richard Jefferson, another high flyer. Chauncey Billups was standing and moved away when Jefferson was in the air and RJ landed awkwardly on his wrist. It was a nasty fall and a bad foul on Billups. If you see the video, you'll know what I mean. So these high flyers now must be careful when going for dunks because of callous players fouling others in a dirty manner. Hopefully, Evans will be alright and now will learn to play on the ground more by by honing his jumpshot, ballhandling skills and overall aspects of his game.

Actually that's the LAST thing that I want to see happen. If Mo comes out of this thing with fear, then he loses an important part of his game. Love to see him round out his game, but not because he's intimidated about flying to the hoop.

Say What !!!

NYCKingsFan - if he does that, he loses a HUGE PART of his game & identity.

Bricklayer - I'm with you, I cross my fingers that Mo comes out of this fine ... this is what he does for a living ... hate to see something like this have a NEGATIVE effect on his confidence and level/style of play.

DITTO! I had said the same thing on another post. I hope he doesn't get scared to take it up in traffic. Something like that would leave scars on most people, but I think hes a warrior, and he know that with Mobley around starting Saturday, hes going to have to continue to fight for more playing time.

word.

mo's a soldier. he's tough. i dont think anything's gonna keep him on the ground. if anything, he may be more inclined to rise up and throw down the rock. i love the guy. best thing that came outta training camp that i can remember these past 7 years watching the kings. i too would love to see him hone his skills more, but we need his toughness and willingness to go to the rack HARD more than anything. i mean, that straight-up nasty alley-oop (which can be seen on nba.com's highlights section under "play of the day") is proof that the kings can run and be exciting to watch again. not that their great half-court sets arent exciting, its just that a bit of a running game would make us less predictable. rock on mo! shake off the headache, and get back on the court soon!

I hope that he come back fully recovered both physically as well as mentally!!!
The super dunks are what make him MO. Get well soon.

You know what I want to see Mo learn form this? That anytime some punk hacks him his team mates are right there behind him willing to stand up for him facing fines and suspnsions... And that the fans realy, realy love him and his high flying tough nosed game.

Welcome ! and lets hope Mo Evans stays the same ... with all you guys talking bout him having a chance to be afriad now makes me scared ... i hope he comes back and goes right D's and makes them suffer...
