Yahoo sports reports the suns are on the verge of trading leondro barbosa to the raptors for hedo turkaglu. The suns also are signing josh childress. Two great moves for them in my opinion. Hedo will flourish with nash. Also the mavs have offer udonis haslem a 3 year 20 mil deal.

Interesting move to say the least.
PHX now has a presumable line-up of

R. Lopez
Hedo
Hill
Richardson
Nash

Interesting. Better outside shooting team than last year though inside presence may be lacking

I don't get this for the Suns. They aren't going to be able to contend, they need to rebuild instead of getting old guys.

No, not everyteam has to rebuild when one guy leaves. The Kings didn't rebuild when Divac and Webber were gone, they were trying to plug holes with vets. The Celtics didn't rebuild but get older and get to 2 finals in the last 3 seasons.

The Suns also resigned Frye and picked up Warrick, so they have some depth to their roster.

And how well did that turn out for us?

The Celts didn't lose a star like the Suns just did.

they are reworking there roster in a bid to remain playoff bound and by the looks of it doing a decent job. The players acquired fit the system and they will do well

Unusual roster they're putting together there. It's going to be Nash, R. Lopez and a slew of 6'9" guys.

Capt and viking are spot on. Staying mired in mediocrity is the worst thing a NBA franchise can do. I understand they want to stay competitive as long as Nash is there, but what they should be doing is getting the most they can for Nash now and handing the keys over to Dragic and the youngins. Ship out J-Rich and Hill as well, and aim for a couple years of high lotto picks to build the store back up.

Right now, they may or may not contend for the 8th seed for a year or two, then they'll dip into the lottery, but will never get a high enough pick to land a real difference maker. We were damn lucky to land Tyreke and Cousins this past two years, as the whole "retooling" approach instead of a proper rebuild had us going nowhere from 2005-2009.
