showtime, i'll say a couple of things before this thread goes out to pasture:
1) the goal is to win a title. you don't do it overnight, you do it through lots of steps, the first of which is, i believe, to get a cornerstone/franchise player. i believe the best way of doing that is through the draft. i have no clue what you think the best way is because you've argued for trades, picks, and free agency. all those other teams that you crapped on (e.g. rockets, warriors, etc.) are at least ahead of us, and even if they are not contending yet, they are a step closer to it than we are.
2) i'm not advocating tanking. you yourself were fine with playing the young kids at the end of last season, even though you thought that that would definitely lead to more losses. i don't see how you and i are different in that respect.
3) mitch richmond was before my time with the kings, but i heard we were godawful back then. tell me, did we have a competent front office during all those years and an owner willing to spend?
4) finally, stagnant and getting worse. we will see at the end of this season. i don't think this team will improve to more than .500, which in the west is nothing. barring the super explosion of thompson and hawes, i think we stay roughly in the 34-40 range. but we will see. like i said, i've heard your argument from people 3 years ago who admonished me and told me to be patient, that in a few years time we would be competitive again. it's been 3 years. i'm still waiting.
