Right now, Peja is digging a grave for himself with his fans back home. He is on his way to becoming a disliked player, and not without reason. After telling everyone how he would never miss out on the EC tournament which takes place in Belgrade, he now cancels his participation in the tournament because he is "tired" ? What kind of half-assed, wussy-@ss excuse is that ? Is that how he shows respect to those who have followed him and worshipped him endlessly when he was on his way to becoming a great player ?

I think this says a lot about him as a player. He has the talent of a champion, but the only thing he's missing is a HEART. He has no competitive fire, he's not a champion.

Good points, Stoj. Of all the things I have seen and heard about Peja, this shows me his lack of heart, his lack of drive where basketball is concerned. Although I have always liked Peja, and the 'swish' through the net of his shots are the most beautiful part of the game, I am now ready to admit that if he is traded....well, I will no longer be upset. So sad, because Peja brings all this on himself.

This could be a long shot, but..........................maybe Peja is more concerned with this upcoming season -cough, cough- contract season, that he is actually taking the time off from the European Championship to work on his game and come into the season well rested and in shape. Optimism at its finest.

I would be absolutely thrilled. However, since I do not expect this, he can't disappoint me.
