Paul George injured at Team USA Scrimmage

Glenn

Hall of Famer
That's a fracture and a bad one at that. Their head orthopedic surgeon was down there.

There are a variety of reasons why they should call it a day and go home and one is that they would be too distracted to play and that could lead to more damage.

I tuned in for like 2 minutes and this happened :( Really feel bad for these guys, Paul George and Pacers fans.

What a tough break for George. He's really been on the come up, and now with this...I'm curious to see how long he will be out.

I presume that's not a pun. Reminds me of Theissman's break. To put the best positive spin I can do I'd say he's lucky it wasn't an ankle or knee. It's ugly just the same.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's already on Youtube. Not, funny, huh? o_O

No disrespect, boss, but that's taking "glass half full" to a whole other level.

I tend to agree with Glenn. It looked like a bone injury, whereas if it were a serious knee injury, his knee might never be the same. As bad as this looked, if it's just a bone break as it appeared, should be good to go a little over a year from now. Bones heal much better than ligaments and tendons.

If you want to take a positive out of it, he better hope that its a broken bone rather than a ligament.

Feel bad for George and his family. Can't help but feel bad for Pacers fans, too. First the brawl, then Granger, and now George; it's like a dark cloud that they can't get clear of.

This was horrible. You rarely see injuries of this magnitude, let alone injuries to star players in such a setting. Here's to wishing George a speedy recovery. I agree that it looked like a bone break and not the ankle. My guess for his replacement would be Derozen.

Like Chris Webber always says when he's doing a broadcast and someone falls into the crowd "They really need to move those cameramen off the floor and move the stanchion back, it's going to take an injury to a superstar before something is done about it"

I've read reports that the stanchion was twenty-six inches closer than it would be in an NBA game.
