This thread is doomed. And yet like the mystery food in the back of the refrigerator I will be compelled to keep checking back.

Outlaw is a black hole - the ball comes in but it don't come out. Plus his 28% 3P percent last year didn't help. Although he is a beast playing against Portland.

Truth is I'm not sure the available free agent SF's, AK47 or Ronnie Brewer are much of an upgrade over Outlaw/Salmons.

KB
AK-47 last season: 12/5.7/2.8/1.5st/1blk on 50fg%
Outlaw last season: 5/1.6/0.6/0.3stl/0.2blk on 41fg%

Yeah...Pretty weak upgrade there.

You and Brick have much more faith in AK and Brewer than I do. Utah AK, when healthy, yes very good player. The Twolves games I watched last year, not so much. Like AK, Brewer has some value defensively. Neither of these guys hits the 3 very well. Is that not the mantra??? 3 and D???

I just don't see AK or Brewer as much improvement, sorry my opinion.

Yeah it is pretty hard to defend:) How is this -->

AK47 MPG = 31.8
Outlaw MPG = 11.7
At last, I have seen the light!!!

All you have to do is to let Travis play 31.8 MPG and he will most definitely triple his production.
Hell, I think he might even shoot at a remarkable 123% clip from the field!

Seriously though - do people actually WATCH games before making a claim that Travis Outlaw is a good solution as a starting SF for an NBA franchise?

I don't know about most "people", as for me I would prefer to have Iquodala or Deng in the starting SF role for the Kings. Iggy chose a winner and a trade for Deng is a long shot. Granger would be nice even with the injuries but once again there is slim chance Indy trades him here.

That leaves AK who to me appears to play more like an underweight PF at this stage of his career. Then there is Brewer who when I have seen him play was a part time defensive specialist. Neither AK or Brewer shoots the 3 any better than Outlaw. So for the stated "3 and D' SF role none of these guys fill the requirement.

At this point I'm hoping for a long shot trade.
