Open letter to the Maloofs

I put this in a separate thread so people would be sure and see it. I haven't always agreed with Tom Ziller in the past, but he sure hits the nail on the head with this:

Dear Joe, Gavin and George Maloof,
How do you sleep at night?...

I seriously hate the Magoofs. Someone needs to change the board settings so that everytime someone types Joe, Gavin, Maloof or Maloof family that it automatically changes it to buncha coward losers.

Will the Maloofs show their face at Sleep Train Pavilion the rest of this season?

---

AV: "So what's different a year later? A lot of people still suspect your plan is to spend next season in Sacramento and then file for relocation in March."
Joe Maloof: "That's not true, that's not true. I swear that is not going to happen. I don't care what rumors are out there. It's our team. We're not selling, and we're not leaving. Our identity is the Sacramento Kings. That's how we're known."

I'm a huge Ziller fan, which is why I spend almost all of my Kings-related time over at StR (which I'm sure a few of you are happy about), but I think this letter speaks well for all Kings fans.

+1.

The cockroaches sold the team to out of area interests without letting the area try to save the team first with local buyers. They had absolutely NO empathy for this area losing its team

They are bad people without souls, they have themselves to live with

The Maloofs said for months through Grant Napear that they were not selling the team. Grant immediately shouted down anyone who even suggested the Maloofs were selling. This was all done while they were negotiating a backdoor sale to Seattle. It's very clear that this was done to spite Kevin Johnson and to give him no time to come up with a matching offer. The Maloofs didn't even try to sell to a local buyer, which is a giant middle finger to Kings fans. I'm listening to Grant today and it's very amusing to hear him covering his *** today saying he himself never said the Kings weren't for sale but he was told for months that the Kings weren't for sale.

The Maloofs had a difficult time imagining that the NBA could be so angry at them. For one, there was all the negotiation re: the arena and the way they casually ended that with a quick middle digit salute but perhaps bigger is that they want to end a franchise that has been in existence for over 60 years. Poof! THAT is a huge slap in the face to the NBA. Anyway, that's the way I would see it as a BOG member and Commish, etc. of the NBA and in fact, I DO BELIEVE THIS AS A FAN OF THE NBA SINCE 1955 OR SO.

There are smaller things involved like retired numbers and the like.

I can be as critical as anyone on here of Howdy Doody, but I do not think he knew anything about the inner workings of MSE in regards to the sale.

A BIG reason, and one of many reasons that it would be terrible if Napear remains with Kings in any capacity assuming team stays under new ownership.

There's been a lot of lying going on by the Maloofs... so much so you just take whatever they say with a grain of salt.

I agree with you on this. He was saying whatever the Maloofs told him to say. Having said that, Grant buys in so deeply and passionately to whatever he is told to spit out on his radio show regardless of any second thought, whether it's the Maloofs' response to arena/relocation rumors, or whether he is doing the 5,000,000th advertisement for the Diamond and Gold Vault or Petkus Brothers on CBS Sports 1140.

It is ironic that even Grant is now pushing hard for the Kings to stay in Sacramento on his radio show... This is a big contrast to before when he would just defend the Maloofs to the end... I think he now sees the light that the Maloofs are not going to be his employer anymore regardless of where the team is, so he doesn't care anymore about offending them.

Not sure where to put this thought but it's related to this thread. Why give Maloofs another stinking nickel. Kings fans are in something of a strange quandry - but giddy in anticipation of nirvana ahead. If they go to any more games this season they're simply lining Maloofs filthy rotten pockets. If they stay away, maybe it looks bad to some and Kings players won't have any kind of "6th Man" atmosphere famously tearing it up - like mostly ancient history anyway.

My vote is stay away until new ownership is in charge and then REALLY light it up once again! I think Kings players will understand and will be OK with just couple thousand (if that many) fans in attendance.

GO KINGS! Kings fans following but via boob tube, via radio, via other media only...

I think Kings fans should go to as many games as possible until it is for sure the Kings are staying...

I cannot imagine how you could be more wrong. Stay away if you like. I'm working right now on getting to as many games as I can. Seeing a full arena will send another strong message to the NBA, especially coming now after the Maloofs have announced the sale of the team and KJ's efforts are front and center.

You don't win a fight by not showing up. I want the world to know I support OUR Sacramento Kings now more than ever. I couldn't possibly care less about the Maloofs at this point.
