On the bright side...

Kings outrebounded the Heat 52-44. Everyone gave big contributions on the boards except for Miller and Webber, somewhat ironically. Nice to see that from Peja, and 7 offensive boards from Evans was impressive as well.

Hey I found a bright side--- Stats

Okay I am pretty upset about this one but lets think positive here. I mean Xmas is 2 days away.. After looking over the stats the Kings played a very very solid game.. Look Below and lets not call for peoples jobs over this performance. Just one of those things.

I put our numbers first.

We had 30/25 assists

Even better........
52/44 Reb's and they had SHAQ.. That is great improvement

7/5 steals

3/5 blocks

23/16 FT

7/11 TO

4/7 3's (not sure I like that considering we have one of the best 3 point shooters around)

All in all Kings played a solid game. Just a hard loss to take

Well, I guess somebody has to find the good in this loss; it sure as **** wasn't gonna be me...
I guess I'm not entirely finding good in the loss, moreso noticing that something that is usually good happened, yet we still lost. Eh, screw it.

So, we're like Craig in Friday? We can't ever have two things that match?

I thought it was a rather exciting game
At this point, what the Kings have gone through, I just want them to win every night they play, and ultimately win a championship. Whether the games be exciting or not, they just need to win.

I'll bet you're a blast at parties.

Kids the Kings hung with the top team in the EAst, built up two big leads and did it with their hot shot 6th amn out, their starting center sitting over half the game and their 2 gaurd out the 4th quarter... close game=no shame.

If this was 1 tough loss I would agree, but the fact is they have had so many games to prove themselves; Seattle, Dallas, San Antonio, Minny X 2, and now Miami.

just look at it this way, there is still plenty of time left in the season for the kings to make a big run.

Prove themselves?

It's December. We're building, learning, growing as a team. They've already proven a lot to me and I expect them to prove even more by the time the playoffs role around.

Look at it this way. They're in the 2004-2005 school year. They've had some tests. There will be 82 tests before the class is over. Each of the tests counts the same. They've done pretty well on quite a few; they've done less well on others. Overall, they still have a pretty good grade going for the class. At the end of the year is when you expect them to have amassed the most knowledge so that they can do well on the final exam.

Tests = season games. Final exam = playoffs.

I think that looking at the bright side of rebounding against Miami might be pushing it. We outrebounded a team that, outside of Shaq and Haslem, pretty much has no other rebounders...they only average 42.9 a game...less than us.

Yes but certain teams are seen as a measuring stick, these are the teams that WILL be in the playoffs. All the teams I mentioned before WILL be in the playoffs. If we can't beat them now, what does that say for later. I am not giving up yet and I hope we turn it around, but if we don't win against the top teams I won't be confident going into the playoffs and I would think there would be lingering doubt within the players themselves (Just look at the frustration on Webbs face when going into halftime).

I don't care how many times we crush the Bucks or the Hornets, we wont be seeing them in the playoffs.

I don't think with a record of 17-8 that it's exactly a matter of turning anything around. Webber continues to get stronger, I think Miller would have had a very good game if he hadn't had the gaping gash in his shin, I'm really impressed with what I'm seeing from Evans, etc. This game could have gone either way. The Heat were playing very well and we had a few momentarily lapses that cost us dearly.

For the record, Webber's frustration doesn't indicate doubt. It indicates frustration because he knows the team is capable of playing better than they did in the second quarter. I refuse to lose faith in this team, now or ever. You may not be confident but I certainly hope the players don't feel that way.

This team is capable of doing good things. Very good things. It's a long season and a lot of things can happen, both to us and to our opponents. I'm not worried about a loss in December to the point where I start to think that early games against some opponents (other than the Hornets ;) ) are less or more important than games against other opponents. A lot of things will happen between now and April. We'll lose more games. We'll lose some we should have won. It happens to every single team in the league. That's why they actually make the teams play the games...

And that's my thirty-four cents on the topic.

:D

yes, another blown 4th quarter lead against a good team. how many "learning lessons" does this team need?

There are many good things to take from this game. That much is true. Now, I'd like to see a "W" to go with all those statistical improvements. It is time for this team to step up their Defense...especially down the stretch.

i must say that webber's jumper looks much better then it did last year.

evans looked good, but i remember collins shooting that one down by saying how he's a streaky shooter. but both guys were loving his hops last night. and DAMN does he have some HOPS! 7 offensive boards NICE!

As many as it takes. School will not be out untill April... Again I'd rather see them making mistakes and developing players now than in March. This was one loss against the top team in the East, the team had momnets of looking great out there, and yes blew some leads. The ood news is that they not only buit up a lead but dug out of the whole. Against weaker teams they have been better about closing out games so although I am not happy to see the loss I am not too worried.

School might be in session, but for how many seasons after this...failure this year might push us back a few grade levels...if you know what I mean.
