Official 24 thread for 2007...

^^^I thought the first 4 hours or so were good then it got really stupid for a while. I didn't think the last few episodes were all that bad but the teasers for next week make me think its about to go back to stupid territory. We'll see.

I still enjoy it immensely, although it's focusing more on intrigue and less on Jack, which I hope is only temporary. I'm not sure at all why they felt the need to bring in Ricky Schroeder. I'm pretty sure Keifer Sutherland is locked up for a couple more years, but if he isn't and they're trying to gauge how viewers would react to him as the new "hero," I will NOT be a happy camper. That's merely my speculative musings, however, so I could be and probably am way off base...

Audrey Raines? Oh, balderdash...

I do like the previews, however, where it looks like Jack might just end up shooting Ricky Shroeder.

:p

AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!! Just when I thought we'd gotten rid of the Vice President.

Lots of stuff in tonight's episode. I was bored with the politics but now I can't wait to see how Jack rescue Audrey, help bring the rightful president back to office with full mental capacities AND restore his reputation and good name in only 6 hours.

I love this show.

:)

Arghhhhhhh! I can't stand that VP who once again is in charge. Blech! Someone needs to take care of that crook.

This show sure goes through Presidents in a short period of time.

Shoot him, Jack!! :p

Some very interesting developments, tonight, IMHO...

Audrey obviously using the "help me, Obi-Wan Jack Bauer" mantra to get herself through whatever horrors the Chinese may have inflected upon her. (Excuse me while I try and fail to feel much sympathy for her...)

I like the twists with the Vice President, with Bill Buchanan and with an apparent mole (again?!?!) at CTU.

Only 4 more hours of this season's 24...

I think that mantra is what the Chinese drilled into her head so she would say it into the phone when the Chinese first called Jack in last week's episode. I think Audrey's brain is currently

Good point.

I just have a bit of a problem with this part of the storyline. First, I don't think the US would have allowed the daughter of a former high-ranking government official to go traipsing off to China for just this exact reason. And second, what in the bleep did she think she was going to be able to do if she found Jack? Just a really weak plot substory, IMHO...

I am hopeful we'll see more of JACK and less of jack.. The evil part of me actually hopes he and Little Ricky get into it and Ricky finds out just how serious Jack can get...

:p

This show has really slipped this year. I've pretty much stopped following this.

My main issue is that this season has been much less about Jack and maore about the whithouse and CTU. That's why I think that there is a chance that they are thinking about killing off Jack. Hopefully, they will see that he makes the show and change it for next season.

Only four hours left...

chelle - A little reassurance for you. I think Keifer still has two years to go on his contract. :)

I'm looking forward to tonight's episode. There are lots of things working now and it always amazes me how the writers find a way to tie them together.

Okay, so who thinks Jack's dad is going to pop back in during the final hours?

Okay, I've been patient but I've about had it. I don't like what they've done with Jack Bauer. I don't like what they've done with CTU; and I'm really tired of the political bulldooty that's taking up way too much time.

But I have to pat myself on the back. Did I call the reappearance of Daddy Dearest or did I?

:p

I hate to say it but this might be the one season I don't want to buy the minute it comes out on DVD.

I for one was rather satisfied with the episode tonight. One of the few I have enjoyed in a pretty mediocre season.

I liked that the Chinese infultrated CTU- and we got to see good ole Jack for a few moments (personal favorite moment- Jack looks at security guard and says: "I need a gun." security guard shot, Jack picks up gun. Shoots several Chinese wielding automatic weapons with handgun).

Other positives- I personally love any scene with Lennox. I have gone from hating him to really enjoying his character.

Milo- One of the things I really HATED about this season was his ability to turn CTU into a junior high school dance ("do you like me; do you like him, blah blah blah.") Consider that problem solved.

The return of Daddy- curious to see what he wants with Josh.

Also- has anyone EVER seen CTU "security" do ANYTHING right? This is not the first time CTU has been infultrated (RIP Edgar). Jack has probably knocked out 2 dozen security people in his multiple escapes from interrogation. Not one security person killed one Chinese guy during the attack. AND it took them about 10 minutes to break through a door last week. Shoddy work...

One huge problem with the episode. Why in the world is Josh so important. My buddy picked up o nthe fact that the "package" was Josh right away- but WHY? What could be SO important about him???

Oh well- a few things to look for ward to next week. 1) Why Josh is so important? 2) how Jack will rescue all of CTU from the hands of men with automatic assault rifles? 3) Tom Lennox- undercover bad*ss.

The whole idea of the Chinese being able to get that close to CTU, especially after what happened a couple of seasons back, was ludicrous IMHO.

Josh isn't important in and of himself. He's important to his grandfather, who I believe knows that Josh is really Jack's son. The Chinese were getting him back as part of the deal with Jack's father, who is fixing the component.

Yeah- that is what is interesting. Why is Josh so important to Phillip? Why would he go through so much difficulty (and it was a LOT of difficulty) to get his grandson (i.e. what does he have planned that he wants such leverage over Jack?) Why have Phillip (who was working with the Russians 12 hours ago) and Cheng been working together- especially consiering that the Chinese and Russians are at such bad terms?

I think the last question is most interesting to the end of the season. Daddy has now been working with operative from two superpowers at the same time (who don't like each other) and helping both of them obtain nuclear weapons and information. WHY? What his role and agenda is specifically, and the final showdown with JAck will be very interesting IMHO.

Okay, I watched the episode again today and wasn't nearly as disappointed with it the second time around...

At least Audrey is out of the picture.

:p

I know they are trying new things and what not (and Monday's episode was not all that bad), but 24=Jack Bauer. I don't care about any of the side stories.

Give Jack a gun (or a screwdriver or he will make his own weapon) and let him loose.

I read that producers are aware that fans are not too happy with this season and they will try to get back to the roots next year.

It's 24 night! And only two episodes left. Lots of stuff to tie together, including the whole Jack/Jack's dad/Josh scenario. And where is Jack's duaghter? Not that I care, mind you. I'm not a big fan of Kim anyway.

Now that was an episode! There are a LOT of things they're gonna have to tie up in only two hours next week.

Pretty interesting wrap-up for the season. I think they redeemed themselves - and I don't know how I'll last until January.

Oh wait. I almost forgot. I have all the previous seasons on DVD!
