Nuggets @ Kings Game Thread

Very smart move By Karl because we havent been making our freethrows so there is no reason for denver to shoot a three on that possession.

Well, that was unfortunate... Sure wish SOMEONE had made the immediate loose ball foul.

...sigh...

they deserved it

4 missed free throws in a row by professionals is unacceptable.

i wasn't even surprised to see that shot go down, the second Grant Napear went into his regular "OMG GUYS HOW IMPORTANT IS THAT TECHNICAL NOW BY <insert someone's name here>" charade. This time he pointed out how huge Kleiza's tech was. Who else thought or said aloud "Well, he'll make it up by hitting the game winner." And he did.

And I'm not even dissappointed. Learn to make free throws. That is all.

Only one good thing about this last-second...

...loss to the Nuggets is:

*that the Kings will need to work on keeping leads when they get them against quality teams. Seldom have they had any sort of commanding leads against quality teams this season (not to mention last season), so to lose this one after such an excellent start may help the team learn to get tough and close out games in the lead when they get them.

The team lost its focus and got sloppy after they had such commanding leads for so long in this game, so, perhaps, Coach T can use this to help them learn to get the killer instinct and to close out games when they can, yes?

or they could just learn to make their freethrows

his definitely reminds of that darn Laker game at almost this same exact time, Remember when bibby and martin missed their freethrows?

Well, Conventional Sports Wisdom™ says that you stick to Iverson and Anthony in that situation, and if Linas F. Kleiza beats you, then you tip your cap, but... damn...

I read Coach T's lips...

...and he was saying "We have a foul to give!"...

...but the team forgot. Shoulda fouled whomever got the damn ball!

the foul to give is really moot.

they should have made free throws

they should have rebounded on that last possession

the foul to give wouldve still allowed them to set up a game winner

I just did some research on our culprit, Linas Kleiza, and it turns out that he shoots 61.1% from 2 pointers, but only 32.2% from three pointers. He did miss some open three pointers against us--so the secret? Make him take a three pointer.
