(Non-Monarchs, but WNBA-related) The new Chicago team

Agreed. What is up with that name? It doesn't sounds very bball at all. Certainly with Chicago's history, they could of thought of something better.

"Men's team?" Judging by what I got out of that press release, the Sky aren't affiliated with Chicago's NBA team at all; little-to-no correlation whatsoever... which will be great for the league in the long term.

The Sky?

If they were affiliated with the Bulls we were guessing that they should probably stay away from the cow theme ie. Bovines, or Guernsies.
Have to agree the Name and Logo are not up to the high standard of the Monarchs name and logo, and for that matter the Sun logo is pretty sharp too.

I thought that they would have come up with a name assoicated with the city itself. Even the Chicago Fire would have been a more logical choice but who are we to say.

The Chicago Fire name is already taken. A Major League Soccer team with that name.

The now-defunct Women's Basketball League (1978-1981) had the Chicago Hustle. That team was coached by Doug Bruno, who is currently coaches at DePaul University.

Also, there is the Chicago Blaze in the semi-pro National Women's Basketball League.
