I have the feeling that if Special comes here we will be begging and pleading for exactly that. Look at Indy and ask them how they feel....
Its possible, but doubtful. Begging and pleading to be irrelevant is not a natural reaction. We have been as good with Peja off the court as on this season. Worst comes to worst, Ron sits home and we just go on as we have been.

That what we have been doing in Indy for the better part of 2 years. Paying lots of $$ for someone who isn't on the floor.

Yeah, I don't think I want to pay him to sit for 2 years when Peja's $$$ are up in a few months.

Artest makes Wells look like a Boy Scout.
From what i heard from the blazer and memphis fans wells has done a series of things. But other then that thing in det and asking for a trade (which aleast 3 players do a year) i do not remember anything else he has done wrong. Don't get me wrong that fight was huge, but proir to that he had not done anything wrong.

Difference being that you HAD Ron as a contributor, and then lost him. So it felt like you were losing something.

For us, its almost all gain. Peja hasn't been able to add anything for us this year -- we lose with him, we lose without him. With Ron he either helps and we win more, or he doesn't and its right back to where we were with Peja.

I'm not very handy with links, but yesterday there was a thread detailing all the crazy things Artest has done in his career, starting in like the year 2000. The list was long and detailed, some highlights include choking his girlfriend, getting fined for smashing video eqmt after a loss, multiple suspensions for making obsense gestures and flagrant fouls, and more that I can't remember. And this November he got mad because he asked for time off to pursue a music career & wasn't greeted with enthusiasm.

Honestly, the guy has a long and checkered history. I know that people can change, but the stunt he pulled yesterday doesn't go a long way towards convincing me that he's turned over a new leaf.

except that with Peja we have at least an expiring contract. With Artest, we'd be paying for 2 1/2 more years, right? Would we have to pay him if he's suspended or could we suspend him without pay? If he's suspended without pay, does his money still count towards the salary cap?

There is little we can do to salvage this season. But I'm worried about making a move that could hurt us in the future. We already have a lot of salary commitments. Committing more money to a guy who seems just as happy to sit home kind of worries me.

I didn't know all thoes things, but i still will give him a chance until he proves other wise. Not enough people are giving him a chance, espeailty on this forum.

And personaly i don't think artest said anything, i really believe that his agent and the media was at fault for what happend yesterday.
