No charges will be filed against Justin Williams!

Justin will be a great asset to the Kings. He has strengths that the Kings have been missing for years. He has a natural ability to be in the right place at the right time. It is amazing to me that he went undrafted. He still has yet to show all what he can contribute when he gets minutes.

Good news as expected. I think it was a bit slow, but now is better than later.
There are 4 new faces who didn't play at the start of the season for the Kings
Hawes and Beno are already getting limited time, Artest will be back next game, and Justin will be back very soon. I hope this means more competitive games for the Kings

Yeah, it should be interesting to seehow many minutes Justin gets this year...my guess is around 20-25 minutes a game. I think Watkins gets the boot now that Justin is coming back. If he can give us 8 pts. and 6/7 rebs and a couple of blocks...not to mention just his presence in the paint, that would ge a HUGE help to us.

Who knows...but hey, it's not like the bar is set that high at the moment, so ANYTHING would be better than what we have now.:D

On fox 40 news Jim Crandel just said "It's my understanding he was allowed to work out at their practice facility... It's very possible he could practice with the team here in sacramento on thursday"!!!

FINALLY... some good news on JWill #2!

The question still remains whether the Kings want him back as he is still a PR liability.

I think we can assume he's going to be reinstated as a member of the team. It will be up to him to show he's worth keeping around.

Mikki Moore, SAR, KT....

....Thats why I'm excited. Williams, Miller, Hawes, and maybe Watkins should be the only frontliners getting ANY minutes. Let the other scrubs rot on the bench til their contracts run out, its not like GMs are lining up to trade for em anyways.

I digress..

Welcome back Williams!!!

Shareef and Thomas have had their opportunities. It's time to put them at the end of the bench and see what Williams can do. I can give Moore another mulligan or two since he wasn't in tip-top shape entering training camp, but my patience is wearing thin quick. In a week or so, this should be the 12 man roster, starters 1-5 and order of players coming off the bench:

1-Martin (40+ minutes/game)
2-Garcia (30-35 minutes)
3-Miller (30-35)
4-Artest (35)
5-Salmons (30-35)
-------
6-Udrih (20-25)
7-Hawes (20)
8-Douby (15-20)
9-Williams (15-20)
10-Moore (10)
11-Thomas (0)
12-Abdur-Rahim (0)
--------
13-Bibby (injured)
14-Greene (waived?)
15-Watkins (waived?)

I hope Theus tightens up the rotation. Williams and Hawes need more minutes. Thomas and SAR need garbage minutes or DNP-CD's. Moore should get about 10 minutes. He'd be a 11th or 12th man on the top tier teams.

Kings' Williams won't be charged: Evidence insufficient to try him for alleged sex assault, DA says.

The Sacramento County District Attorney's Office will not pursue sexual assault charges against Sacramento Kings reserve center Justin Williams.

In a prepared statement Tuesday, District Attorney Jan Scully's office said a Sacramento police investigation did not find sufficient evidence to warrant criminal charges and that police did not request that charges be filed...

...Williams said being away from the Kings the past five weeks has been difficult and that he looks forward to getting back on the basketball court. "I'm going to play harder than ever," he said.

Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie did not return a call for comment Tuesday, but team spokesman Troy Hanson said the organization would comment today.

...While he was placed on a leave of absence after the allegations were revealed, his roster spot was retained and the Kings will not have to make any cuts to bring him back.

Come on, Justin's not that good at all

Defense? Okay

So true....everyone paints Justin to be this key player and he simply is not. Nice addition to the front line but definitely not a game changer. Not that anyone else in our front line is a game changer but people need to calm down about his "talent".

The thing about Justin is that he's good at what we aren't as a team. He's not a game changer and I wouldn't expect him to be. But I think he can help up on the boards and not allow other teams so many second chances and he can help to guard the rim. He doesn't need to be great, just solid.

We can't say what Justin is or isn't. He hasn't had enough consistant palying time. I think with hard work and consistant playing time he could become a vital role player. He may not be a star in the long run, or may he would be who knows, but he could sure give you 15 pts, 12 rebounds, and 2-3 blocked shots a game given consistant playing time, buy the mid point of the season I believe.

He's showed the hunger and the ability. Who wouldn't take those stats night in and night out? If you say you wouldn't your insane. The power forward doesn't HAVE to be the star, but he does need to be a consistant strong player. Just is that.

If he could give say 8-6-2 with some decent backup minutes this year I would be happy. If he's getting more minutes, obviously a double-double would be nice. I see his points and rebounds being about equal in the short term, and that would be fine.

Like most here, I don't think he's star material but as a good roleplayer with a nose for the ball - maybe! But he needs time to see if that's realistic or not.

No one paints him as a key player, people are excited to see him on the court because he does what no other big man we have does.

He rebounds, defends and blocks shots.

People are excited about him because of what we have to see night in and night out with Mikki, KT and sometimes Brad, it's a breathe of fresh air to see a guy who excels at something no other big man of ours does.

No one sees him as a savior or a key player, we're just tired of the same old slop so why shouldn't we be excited to see him.

GEOFF PETRIE AND JUSTIN WILLIAMS STATEMENTS

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. - Wednesday, November 14, 2007

Geoff Petrie: “We are all gratified with the outcome of the investigation involving Justin Williams. It has been a long month for everyone. He will be welcomed back as he rejoins the team for tomorrow’s practice here in Sacramento. We want to thank our local law enforcement officials for their thoroughness and professionalism.”

Justin Williams: “Thank god that it’s over with and I am looking forward to getting back with the team. I thank my fans, family, friends, teammates and the Kings organization for sticking with me through the whole ordeal.”

All that, plus, like any other young player, he just needs PT and developement.

Thanks for typing all that..

I am excited to have JW because those stats Brick posted about our team sucking the most at rebounding, rebounding difference, blocks, offensive boards given up, second chance points given up, pure defensive suckiness, pure crappiness, no defending, ect ect...

Just let the kid play, and I am sure all of you will welcome the rebounds, and blocks the kid gets.

Not to mention the second chance points. I would be willing to bet 1/3 of Justins offense come from rebound put backs.

Lets see....

I think I need a Justin Williams status check...

If I remember correctly, he really needed to work on his FT shooting in the offseason and he showed improvement in the preseason. Wasn't that the only thing that was really holding him back from getting more minutes? And since Reggie has no qualms about sending KT, SAR or whoever to the pine, we may just get what we need out of the PF position.

So now back to dreamland...Williams and Hawes getting comfortable together...aaahhhhhh.:D

is he playing tomorrow? START HIM!

I can't see why Theus would start him. He is probally going to bring him back slow as they did with Hawes. I know he's not coming back from an injury but I believe upon his "absence" he was not able to use any Kings facility, so he might be a bit out of shape re: his cardio.

But if it was ME I would be on that treadmill every day :)

Williams, who could play tonight against New York, said he kept in good shape while on a leave of absence from the team, lifting weights four days a week and doing conditioning five days a week.

I'm sure he's in fine shape but he won't start and if he does it's Theus sick of every other option at PF.

Justin was able to use the practice facility to work out, etc. He just wasn't allowed to actually practice with the team.
