NFL this weekend

This weekend marks my favorite NFL weekend each year. I love the conference championship games. It is all about football and only about football. I love that the games take place with a home crowd. It would be awesome to be in Seattle or Denver this weekend.

Contrast this with the Superbowl which I have learned to hate. It isn't about football. It is about over-hyped commercials, over-hyped pre-game and half-time shows. It is about superbowl parties (which I really hate) with the chili cook-offs and a house filled with a bunch of people who don't know squat about the NFL. It is about a corporate crowd that does not really care about the game unlike the the home-town zealots we will see this weekend. I hate what the Superbowl has become. Give me football and only football!!!!

The super bowl still is about football no matter what surrounds it... It the end its all football... I always look forward to the second half... Everything seems to calm down at that point and it focuses even more on football...

My long time Bronco friend will be there. Bad part, his little brother is going with him, huge Steeler fan. Someone will have a long plane flight home.

I agree with most of that. I'm locking the doors and turning off the phone today. I need to be alone for situations such as this. lol

Kinda a boring day in football. No close games at all. I hope that changes in the SB!
