NFL 2025-2026 Thread

Truly the most hilarious reason to get cut.
Instant panic induced in every single football player in the country...

Ah nice to see the 2026 NFL thread - I've seen the 49ers being mentioned as 11 or 12 wins, which I kinda doubt it unless McCaffrey somehow stays healthy all season and their rookies and 2nd year players do well above average. As usual they did little to improve a seive of a secondary with no close-down speed player. I dont like Green, and Lenior is overrated. They'll be starting 2 or 3 rookies on defense it looks like. The offensive line is another question-mark besides Williams. Luckily the 49ers have a favorable schedule which may be both good and bad (fools gold) when it comes down to not playing the best competition.

Although it won't happen, if the 49ers somehow keep Bosa and add Parsons, their D-Line gets back to near/surpassing the Superbowl runner up team with Buckner and Bosa.....while the secondary now pedestrian in every sense of the word. Its been the modus operandi year in and year out to neglect the secondary for management. Last year the offense was badly degraded with McCaffrey and Aiyuk out and Purdy having to unwantingly scramble and show off his evasion way too much, while the defense looked its weakest since Bosa went out for the year in 2021. The cream puff schedule the 49ers were bestowed include the AFC and NFC south - the schedule makers seemed to be paid of.

huh?

The 49ers were bad last year, so we get the easiest schedule the following year. Just like the Eagles have the toughest SOS this year, because they won a ton of regular season games

Yep. And about half of the games are mandated due to division, so it is what it is.

Yeah but it’s much easier to believe in a secret conspiracy than it is to believe that this is just how they’ve been setting schedules for the last two plus decades.

49ers were bad, but were not the worst team last year by a 4 or 5 teams...... their schedule says otherwise - the cream cheese factory - what 2 or 3 playoff teams from last year. You would've thought them winless

Its based on division rankings. Since we were the worst in the nfc west, we play the worst teams in the other divisions+ our divisional games

Its basis is poor and arbitrary, just like the playoff divisional winners going in the playoffs before higher win-total teams. Antiquated and slanted. It should be straight standings. And I looked it up, I was wrong, 49ers were 11th from the bottom......even worse than I'd first though. There's some lee-way in it but that's SLOP.

Kings post game alumni Guy Haberman is going to be doing play by play in place of Greg Papa on the Niners radio calls this season.
