NFL 2022-2023 Season Thread

And it comes down to the Niners and Seahawks AGAIN.
I know the Seahawks have looked like trash for quite a while but they tend to play their best against the Niners. Oh man I’m nervous!

I'm not - Smith isn't mobile enough.....49ers are gonna beat 'em by 10 at least. I"ll say 34-21. ,,..Chickens were the best possible opponent to start off against. Caroll likes trying to force the run - right into the 49ers defensive stength. Give the Seahawks a kind 2 in 10 chance

Seattle-San Francisco is always an intriguing matchup. Niners should be able to win their game next weekend, however, but don't be surprised if it turns out to be a battle all the way until the game clock hits 0:00. Postseason play tends to bring out the best in any team, even if, on paper, they look extremely underwhelming. Sure, Seattle's home crowd gives them a distinct advantage pretty much over any team out there, but don't completely count them out on the road just yet.

Anything can happen. Football's a funny game.

Heck, I have very little to no hope for my Cowboys against Brady, in Tampa Bay, next weekend. But I also won't be surprised if they pull it off in the end. That's just the way it is sometimes.

The Cowboys are 'jekyl and hyde' looking similar to the Vikings but better defense.....they've thrashed some teams and been whooped as well. They can muster a win against the Bucs who have fallen off I think. Vikings win over the Bills was one one of the most impressive of the regular season though. Unlike the Cowboys the Vikings defense is much more suspect. I wouldn't be too surprised if Giants pull of an upset.

Niners 'bout to have some solid competition out West in a few seasons, perhaps???

They’re saddled with Kyler’s contract. I think the talent is there but I don’t think he’s going to mature and be the leader they need.

if they get a coach that truly unlocks him, watch out.

I mean...If the new coach can bring out the Kyler that took care of the Raiders on the road early in the season, watch out. I'll just leave it at that.

Always a naysayer somewhere:
"
Ruiz's rankings grade quarterbacks on six different attributes (accuracy, arm talent, creativity, decision-making, pocket presence and pre-snap), plus he hands out badges to denote strengths, weaknesses, and "who has that dog in him." Purdy does not have the dog in him, according to Ruiz, who has him badged as a "System QB."
Some of the choice parts of Ruiz's assessment of Purdy:
  • "Brock Purdy probably looks pretty good in practice."
  • "The arm strength issue stands out under pressure. And that’s also when his decision making becomes a bit erratic."
  • "He just doesn’t have the athleticism or arm talent to make plays in those volatile situations."
  • "He’s smart, accurate, and just big enough for the NFL. But despite checking all those boxes, he still ended up as the 2022 draft’s Mr. Irrelevant. That is how bad his arm is.

Selling him short a good deal. - Purdy has outstanding accuracy, creativity, and pocket presence. He'd be in the top 10 with a full-season extrapolated out.

Score Prediction-. I think its gong to be a closer game because of the rain - turnover differential becomes a bigger wildcard. --- 49ers still win -- 20-13. Still For the Seahawks to upset, they'd need at minimum a +2 turnover differential and maybe even +3. I can see Pete Carroll trying to force the run and getting stuffed a bunch.
