Considering how much they would have had to pay for Laken, I can see why the Niners would let him walk.

Banks was apparently looking better in practice as the season went on too.

The Niners invested a lot of draft capitol into bringing in the two offensive linemen from Notre Dame. Hopefully they start justifying that investment soon. With limited cap space and more pressing needs in the secondary, I figured Tomlinson wasn't going to be a priority.

Tomlinson is going to be missed. Was a let down in Detroit and took him about a season to get acclimated in SF but once he did, he was a solid OL.

Yeah, for sure. Understand why we couldn't keep him since he's not an absolute core piece, but he's a quality starting O-line. Gotta hope Banks is ready after his red-shirt year and live up to that draft capital.

Yep I hope so because it doesn't take more than a couple bad lineman to completely sink a season.

So where do we think Watson ends up? Seahawks, Eagles and Carolina are the three most likely destinations. Have to think Seahawks are the favorite

Also we lost DJ Jones to the Broncos. That one stings more than losing Tomlinson for me, and probably Lynch too since he was a huge steal (6th round) from his first draft as GM.

EDIT: Oh, Tetsujin did post the news. Somehow I scrolled past it.
