Good to see the Chiefs go down like that. They've got the Seahawks luck from a handful of years ago where it seems like everything goes their way so it's nice to see the opposite happen for once.

49ers down to RBs off street - Trent Cannon probably getting some reps this week in practice.....this isn't surprising how much Shanahan likes running the ball.

Man, Usually I sleep and cool off on my takes a little but I’m just hating everything about the Niners Jimmy/Trey situation.

It’s a big if, but if Jim stays healthy this season Trey will go two full years with barely any game action. That’s not good. One of his biggest issues/red flags is lack of actual game-playing time and that’s only being extended… not good. I really don’t get spending all those assets to get Trey to sit behind a QB who tops out at mediocre. Really should have just stayed at 12 and taken Mac with how this is going.

Kid is going to have growing pains, be it now or in the future. They should just get them out of the way this season. He has a good enough team around him not to be Alex Smith’d, and with Jimmy I still think we’re third in the division so we wouldn’t downgrade that much … plus he’s just be handing off 65% of the time.

I really don’t think I’ve ever been colder on a 2-0 road start.

Mac and Kimmy G pretty much had identical stat lines yesterday except Jimmy ran for a TD and threw one whereas Mac pretty much just had to run the clock down all game as Zack Wilson kept passing the ball to the wrong team Fweiw

Sorry Slab.

But thanks for not taking Mac.

Im still glad we didn’t. I like Trey as a prospect so much more. I’m still happy we didn’t trade up for Mac. But the handling the Niners are doing makes zero sense to me. If Kyle’s so content with the JimmyG playbook and just pounding the ball, why didn’t we just take Jim2.0 and save the draft capital?

It's perfectly normal for rookie QBs to not start right away. Aaron Rodgers sat for 3 years. Brady, Brees and Mahomes a full year. It's not like what they're doing is anything out of the ordinary. I get that Lance was acquire through a big trade but if a rookie QB is not ready, then he's not ready.

I say trust in Shanahan. Jimmy couldn't hit anyone further than 5 yards down the field in the first half and he adjusted the play calling to help him gain some confidence, which opened up the back end of the field a bit more when it was time for him to make those big plays that eventually helped win the game. If Shanahan doesn't think Lance is the better QB right now, then I trust his judgment. He has been a godsend for this team. If anyone deserves a 10 year Gruden like contract, it's Shanahan.

Should be noted that Adrian Peterson and Todd Gurley (both guys with experience in a Shanahan-style system (coached by McVay) are also still out there if past-their-prime superstar running backs are your thing.
