I don't understand where all this money is coming from bonkers to me. I imagine BB just watching the waiver wire in a month or two.

Matt Ryan to the Colts.

Keep telling me Jim’s not terrible as every other team chooses any other option before him.
Yeah, pretty much worst case scenario playing out.

At this point, might be better to just keep him on ice and potentially trade him mid-season if/when a QB injury happens. At least that way, if something happens to Lance, you have a viable back-up.

That's probably more valuable than flipping him for like 4th/5th?

And Winston just resigned with the Saints. Another player out.

Keeping him is asking for trouble. The players will assuredly rally around their guy forcing Lance to the bench for another year even with Jim’s barely average play. Dude needs to be cut.

Players aren't dumb. They know when you make the trade the 49ers did for Lance, that keys to the kingdom are already his. The FO can't justify in any sense sitting him another season, I'm not worried about that one iota.

Atlanta is just taking a redshirt on solving their QB problem I guess. Marcus is a good dude and it was arguable the Titans were not a good situation until Tannehill showed up and became an instant winner.

They'll cut him. His cap hit is gigantic. Save $20M+ by cutting him.

As for Jimmy sucking, yea, he sucks.
They don't have to cut him until Monday of week one to avoid paying his salary. My guess is they wait for a QB to get injured in camp and pounce, like what happened when the Vikings traded a first rounder for Sam Bradford because Teddy blew out his knee in practice.

If they can squeeze some value from him, great. But no way they carry that cap hit into the season.

I would almost put money on teams looking at cheaper backups before Jim. Like Minshew. Or Foles.

Jim has anti-value.

Just cut him and hope he ends up in Seattle so we get two freebies this season.

We'll see. I don't know what intel these teams are getting but every single NFL franchise seems to be operating under the impression that the cap is going to go up by nine figures next year or something, in which case carrying Jimmy's expiring on our roster this season is nothing.

Even with an increased cap, I just don't see how they take a $26.95M cap hit just to hold him for a third, maybe a second round pick. Teams pay more than that just to get rid of dead salary. Plus all of the other drama with Lance and having to push Sudfeld, who they just paid above market rates to, to third string.
