We own the pick unless we unless we make the playoffs. The pick is so protected it might as well not have been included in the deal. Our 1st rounder is still very tradeable.

You can't trade a first round pick two years in a row. So, although, we probably won't make the playoffs this season, and therefore keep the pick, there is no way of knowinig where we'll end up next season. We could make the playoffs, and lose that pick. Therefore, since we can't trade a 1st round pick two years in a row, we can't trade this years pick, if indeed we still end up with it.
