New attitude? Iverson says no time to waste
Philadelphia 76ers: Who says Allen Iverson doesn't like to practice? With Chris Webber, Rodney Rogers, Matt Barnes and Michael Bradley among the new players joining the team in a trade deadline deal, Iverson and the 76ers hope to get everyone up to speed to learn Philadelphia's playbook.
"Yeah, I'm anxious to come to practice," a grinning Iverson told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "And that let me know that my career is definitely turning for the better."
The 76ers lost their first game with Webber and company, 101-99 to Sacramento on Saturday. They have six games in eight days beginning Tuesday in Milwaukee and trail the Celtics by 1½ games with 27 games left in the regular season.
"We don't have time to waste," Iverson continued. "We've got to get it done right now somehow. The concentration level has to be that much higher in all of these practices, getting things taken care of on the court. We've just got to adjust faster."
Charlotte Bobcats: The team signed veteran guard Cory Alexander and waived injured center Jahidi White on Monday.
Alexander played for Roanoke of the National Basketball Development League this season and averaged 16.4 points, 8.3 assists and 2.2 steals in 32 games.
White has been on the injured list since December 11 and will undergo season-ending surgery on his strained right shoulder.
The 6-9 White played in just 18 games with the Bobcats after being selected in the expansion draft and averaged 2.5 points and 2.0 rebounds.
To make room for Alexander on the roster, the Bobcats placed guard Bernard Robinson on the injured list with a left foot sprain. This will be the third stint on the IL for Robinson -- the previous two due to left knee tendinitis.
