Otherwise I don’t understand giving a first rounder for a half season rental, at the same position as your other two best players(Barnes, Barrett) when you’re one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Or they really really didn’t want to pay Olenyk for his final season

Hornets are left with Diabate and Taj Gibson as centers but it doesn't matter to them.
Mark Williams had some really nice matches the last month or so but he had injury issues the whole time, avoided playing in backtoback matches etc.

It’s a bit odd. Why not just keep Siakam who wanted to stay?

At least right now, Mark grades out as a pretty poor defender according to analytics. He’s a heck of a rebounder though and it sounds like the main reason they wanted him is because he is a great lob threat for Luka. He still is young enough to improve defensively of course

He is a big talent get for sure but they have a bit of an odd build going. Poeltl doesn’t shoot 3s, Barnes is bad at shooting them, BI doesn’t take enough of them, RJ is just average at them. Tough to win without shooting. IQ and Dick balance things out a bit but I dunno.

Odd for sure but i like where their at. Lots of big wings. Dick has looked great this year, he gives me kevin martin vibes. And IQ can drop 25-30 any night. future will be bright for them.
