Very much so. And what a fun team to watch. Nothing too overly flashy. A team that just plays fundamentally sound basketball, and who also has one of the best, if not the best, players currently playing the game.

@miltonap, there was absolutely NOTHING that you didn't see...That was such a terrible call!!!! Unbelievably pathetic!!! And what made it even worse was the fact that they even looked at it for a handful of minutes, but STILL determined that it was a foul...WTF???!!!!!
Also, legit question for you all...Did the Heat simply fail to grab the game from the silver platter that the referees were clearly extending out to them with that "foul" call, or did the Nuggets simply not allow the Heat to grab the game from the silver platter???

TBF there was that Lowry attempted strip on Jokic that they called a foul when they could easily have made it a jump ball. Altho I suppose Lowry v Jokic jump is basically the same result

so in the last decade Cleveland, Toronto and Denver have won their first NBA championships, of course with HOF players leading the way. Milwaukee wins one in 21'. This is a positive view of things in my perspective for not just the Kings but other franchises who have been rotting in the lottery.

this reminds me of a time when I watched Mike Tyson talk about losing all his money throughout his career only to make it right back. The point I'm trying to illustrate here is that some individuals that know how to make lots of money will always have the ability.

Hopefully the talk of you can never win a championship with player X will stop forever, glad Jokic got it done to me he's the Goat Serbian sport person ever. As much as I hated DJ during his Clippers years it's pretty nice he gets one instead of Blake/CP3.

That was a foul. Yeah he grabbed the ball but it definitely helps when you grab and hold the other arm too lol. He fouled him several times in the attempt to grab the ball, so I don’t think that really was something to complain about.
Denver is a class organization from top to bottom. I used to watch the Nuggets back in the days with Doug Moe and Alex English when I lived in Golden. It is almost corny watching Jokic set the tone for his team. He is so humble and keeps his head down. He appreciates all of his team mates. His family is unbelievabley supportive. Watch out for Denver in the future. They are young and have all of the intangibles. Congratulations to Mike Malone.

None on purpose. No storming off the court like the GS Terriers or James. No need for an enforcer. Respect for the game is refreshing to see. Jokic sets the tone for his team and the Heat showed plenty of class too. I wish more NBA Finals could be like this one.

Does that apply to everyone, or just the guys you like? I ask because I feel like if someone said, "You can never win a championship with Trae Young," you wouldn't be mounting a very vigorous defense right now.

Imo the NBA is about as elite competition as it gets where as tennis is not on that level but that's just my opinion, I would say Novak is more successful but not the best,

Yep, people aren’t exactly lining up to defend the postseason virtue of James Harden. Plus, for the most part, the narrative around the Nuggets for the past half decade has been “Will the non-Jokic players ever stay healthy enough for them to make noise in the postseason?” and Nuggets fans obnoxiously trying to fire Mike Malone on social media after every single postseason loss they’ve had since the bubble.

Nikola Jokić is actively playing defense against the NBA's ability to promote him as a superstar, and I can't decide whether I hate it or whether I think it's the greatest thing in the history of sports?
This Finals marks the first time in the history of sports that you can't fall back on the old cliché of, "Well, he just wanted it more." Not only did Jokić not appear to "want it more" than Jimmy Butler, he reacted to winning a championship like he didn't want it at all. And again, I can't decide it I hate it, or if I think it's the greatest thing ever.
I like the way NHL does it. League commish presents to the captain of the winning team. There's a very defined hierarchy on who gets it next and every player gets a lap around the rink.
Not to mention the tradition of every key member of the organization getting their day with the cup. This includes scouts, which is how I got my picture with the thing .
Under most conditions I would hate it. There's something about Jokic I like about it. Maybe because the way that Denver was completely ignored by NBA media, even moreso than Sacramento, imho, and yet they're anything but a fluke. This was a well built team that earned it without all in moves or firing the coach that built the team because they stumbled a few times. If he had suddenly been super hype guy, it would have been awkward.
It also gives me more hope than I've had in almost 40 years as a Kings fan that it could happen in my lifetime for Sac.
Are we sure? Like, "fluke" might be too inflammatory a word choice: clearly Denver was the best team in the league, all season long. But fifteen years from now, are we going to look back at this as the start of a run, or as one magical season where everything came together for the Nuggets?
But even if they don't win again, it was a long project and the last two years they were pretty damned good too only to get snakebit by injuries.
Despite the fact that loads of haters have asterisked the LBJ/Davis championship, and with fair reasons, the media treats that team like perrennial contenders while having ignored Denver during this time. And people still go on and on about Phill and the Process despite another second round exit - if/when they win, the media will gush.
I'm sure that if they go back to an average at best team some will call it a fluke but I think that's terribly unfair and it's refreshing to see a team built the way they were. Especially in the wake of Connelly to the T'wolves and wiping out whatever promise they showed with the Goober trade after apparently being rebuffed by Nuggets ownership to try a similar swing for the fences in Denver.
As a lifelong Kings fan, I salute Denver and say I am envious. If the Kings do it in my lifetime it will probably complete my sports fandom.

Nuggets have been a consistent mid-playoff team for 5 or so years. I don't think that they need multiple championships to prove their organization has a sustainable strategy.

Yeah, they just don't look to be a totally dominant. I've seen people mention the Spurs and maybe that's possible. Flat out Jordans Bulls or Shaq/Kobe Lakers just mark it down for a few years type of team is possible but not likely. Depends on the other teams around them. If the Nuggets are able to stick together they kind of do have the feel of a Spurs/Warriors team where they could rip off a few over a 5-7 year stretch though. Of course the Warriors without landing Durant could be a few rings shorter than they are currently.
I don't think we'll see the Bulls or Lakers dominance again (or that of teams before them who were equally if not more dominant). Too much player movement and unlike the 90s the league finally has enough talent to support the amount of teams in it and unlike the Shaq/Kobe Lakers, the league probably won't ever allow a big man to dominate the way Shaq and his predecessors could.
I guess we'll see if Vic changes that. I have doubts.
