well he is playing on one knee and we know when he is dragging an injury like that he usually does not look good. same knee always, so that does not portend well for the future. made some other contribution with steals/assist this game, but If I was Nate I would rest him for a game see if that helps. They would most likely already rest him if Hunter did not mess up his knee as well.

Hawks are ahead of schedule, in the way that the Heat were, last year. Except the difference between Atlanta and Miami is that Atlanta's core is all on the same timeline, whereas Butler is not on the same timeline as the rest of those dudes, which resulted in Riley arguably making the wrong decision with Harden, having to choose between trusting the growth of his young guys, or going all-in on "win now."
Whether this season ends in a championship for Atlanta or not, they can afford to stay the course with what they have.

The one issue they are going to have is their spending spree last season giving them little to no cap space to work with and Collins being a free agent this summer. They can keep him but then they’ll pretty much have no cap room left until approximately 2030. Having all their picks and a coach also helps

I don't know about all that, but I tell you what: say whatever you want about the "weak" east, the next time Doncic leads his team past an opponent as good as the 76ers in a playoff series will be the first time.
Or Hawks just have a lot more talent than the Mavs

true. the Hawks are a better team than Dallas though. As ESP47 said somewhere they are built well ( I think he said built better than the Kings but the point stands), But there is a certain unstoppable-ness to him which accrues to the team.

They're also at least built to withstand the minutes where Trae is resting as opposed to the Mavs, who immediately turn into a nuclear waste dump the second Luka comes out of the game.
They are built much better than the Mavs for sure, but it's pretty much taken heroic unexpected efforts from Galinari and Huerter to keep them in the game when Trae is out, now that Bogi is basically useless. I mean, theoretically the Mavs would have KP, but healthy KP plays like injured Bogi.

So u gonna predict the kings NOT making the playoff next year?
Forgetting about the Mavericks, I wonder what Lou Williams' feelings about the trade. He was pretty salty about having to leave the Clippers, and he was hoping that the Hawks would waive him, so that he could sign with a contender.
