NBA Live 2005 - merged

Hey, since this is about EA Sports games, I have NBA 2004 for the PC. Is there a patch that would have updated rosters that I can download, or do I have to do all of it myself? What a chore. Thanks in advance.
The only way to get a patch that updated the game is to get it online, but not the internet online. You have to have your PS2 setup so it can play online against other people, you buy a network adapter and stuff. then you can put nba live in and log on and downliad the patches right from your PS2.

but even if you plan on getting this stuff you probally wont be able to get a patch for LIVE 2004, reason being is that they discontinue the sport games online once a newer version of it comes out (2005), so Im pretty sure that you will be forced to buy 2005 or update the rosters yourself.

Sorry

oops sorry, I thought you were talking about the PS2, you could look on EA for a patch wich they most likely have, but hope that they still allow people to use it

Speaking of Alexander, has anyone even heard from him? I know they didn't have a press conference announcing his signing, but I haven't seen any interviews or comments from him all.

anyone have it or have played it on PC already? How is it? I've always been a PC gamer coz everything's just way better compared to gaming consoles.

Is it just me or is the camera view baseline high way farther out then last year? It seems like I can't even make out the players numbers its so far back. Even when I use the zoom feature all the way in it still seems a bit too far out. I use the PS2 version.

Great idea! Consider it done...

Now, where did I put that big economy sized container of *POOF* dust?

;)

The PC version isn't out yet.. Not until the 12th.. Hopefully, EA continues to make the PC game more superior with this year's version as well.

PC version of NBA 2005 ... is still not out in CANADAAAAAAAA

damn that sux ... my buddy ordered it for me ... 5-10 days ... cant wait

Actually Court's jersey # is 9 and Bluth is 3, at least that's what they were wearing for Media Day.

Has anyone went online with Live'05 and checked if there has been any roster updates, when was the last update? I don't have a modem for my PS2 yet so I can't find out.

BTW, IMO the overall gameplay & graphics has really improved and the new features especially the dunk contest's one of the reasons why I can't stop playing this game

. But I agree there is some choppiness like MadD said, but for me it's minor and it hasn't detracted from the gameplay, at least not yet.

i got used to it

no more angry fits of rage :D

i found out the more i play (the hotter the gamecube) the more lagginess there is. By my 3rd game, the visuals started to get jumpy.

MadD, how do you do a 720 ?
you probably have it for the PS2 dont you:

720- Triangle(while gathering spin Left analog sitck in a 360 3 times), R1-Triangle

I played both for a few hours, and bought ESPN.

The gameplay is better (which is all I really care about). Much more sim-oriented, with awesome momentum physics.

The presentation is awful. I turned off commentary after two games, whereas in Live it is awesome.

Dunk contest is cool but gets old fast. 24/7 is fun, but repetitive.

If you care at all about graphics, stay away form live.

Heh you're right, Im probably just jaded by ESPN's graphics.

I also recently played an import called Berserk, and the graphics and cutscenes were unbelievable. And then after watching that and seeing what NBA live offered, it was a pretty big letdown.

If you got used to Live 2004, it's pretty much the same graphics wise. I got used to ESPN's graphics.

After playing both games for the weekend, I'd still have to say the crown still belongs to ESPN. If you are looking for an "arcade", easy learning curve game, then Live is for you. Otherwise, ESPN brings more to the table in respect to strategy and having to run plays in order to be successful in franchise mode. You won't be successful in ESPN as you would in Live playing the same repetetive ISO plays and scoring with the same old dunk animations.

Another annoying thing about Live is that you can NEVER run a fast break. By the time you get down court, the AI of your opponent always gets back. Whats even more unrealistic is that when you actually do get down to run a fast break, your teammates run out to the three point line instead of towards the basket - totally lacking basketball fundamentals.

Before anyone slams me, I just love monkeys and anything relating to them, no matter how peripherally...(my nieces and nephews all know that their nickname from me is "you little monkey" :) )..

and for FWIW, when I googled "10 monkeys" I not only got the picture above, I got this one:
