why dont we unite not not watch any nba kinda like boycott them

Because this is just Sad i dont think team should move it is a part of the city's history if the nba fans were unite and had a voice maybe we could change something but too bad we all know this will not happen but just trowing some ideas out there.

I'd take it a step further and say boycott going to games too. Let the Maloofs know that they may steal our team but they won't steal anymore of our money.

Sure, thats the answer. Then they can say it was an easy decision cause the fans dont care anyway.

They can already say that. Have you seen attendance for the last three years? Most of that is The Maloof's fault for not putting a competitive team on the floor, though. I'm beginning to think that they intentionally put bad teams out there so fan support would dwindle and they'd have an excuse to move. I know that sounds a little tin-foil-hattish, but whatever.

If we leave, I want the players to know that it was NOT because of me.

I'm sure they already know that. I've heard just about every player on the team say something about how great Kings fans are. They'd understand that our hatred is for The Maloofs, not the players.

With the referee problems, the forced drama, the insulting responses to real problems, poor team offense and the general arrogant attitude of Stern, the NBA is mostly unwatchable to me as is. Having a vested interest in a team is the only thing keeping me going.

You do realize I assume that if YOU, Sacramento, had at any point in the last dozen years gotten your act together and found a way to put up an arena -- something basically everybody else your size has done -- the team wouldn't be moving right? Whatever the NBA's problems, and it does have a number, trying to blame them for a civic failure doesn't really fly beyond hurt feelings. A dozen years. In that time approximately 1 out of every 7 people on the planet has passed away. There has been a new millenium. Kids who were in first grade are now freshman in college. Its a ridiculous length of time to blunder about and keep on expecting someone to wait. Are they supposed to wait 20yrs 30?

It really never was any more complex than building a suitable arena. It was made out as impossible, made into some pyrrhic show of smalltown obstinance or stick it to the rich guy pride, or I don't want anything built ever with my money tax revoltism, or whatever. All B.S. It was simple. Build it and we would not be at this point. Or apparently don't build it, and then blame the other guy.

If the Maloofs had come swooping in in 1998, bought the team, and moves it away, I would have been there with this sentiment. Scummy and should not be allowed to happen. After waiting around for more than a decade, going from young men to middleaged men, one of them even had a heart attack here recently, this isn't somebody stealing the small town's team anymore. Its the small town forcing it out the door.

That may all be true but i still hate them for jumping ship on us when the mayor is doing everything in his power to get them an arena. They could at least give David Taylor, ICON, Kevin Johnson, and the current city council a chance. If they bungle it and nothing gets done then I could see that being the last straw and them filing next season. And I'd hardly be able to blame them at that point. But, if they truly wanted to remain in Sacramento, as they've claimed, then you don't pull the plug on the city you supposedly want to be in when it's in the midst of a last ditch effort that may actually get something done. ICON has a track record for getting things done. It's very possible this time could have been the real deal and The Maloofs won't even cooperate. It's not surprising though given their history of being difficult and demanding.

It's like you didn't even listen. The Maloofs did their due diligence on this one.

And when exactly does it stop?! In another 20-30 years?!

Let face it, Taylor himself said that this is a long shot but he will still try. He wasn't exactly brimming with confidence when he took this on. So what happens if this feasibility study comes with the same conclusion that every one before it did?! Do you say, OK then, I understand the Kings moving away? And what happens if in another deperate attmept KJ and the council again gets some other hot shot developer to again do a feasibility study after this one?! Do you still come back with, I hate them for not giving them a change?! How often do they have to give them a chance.

For years Maloofs have dispelled rumours about wanting out and for years they have tried to get something done in Sacramento. Only this year they have said they are considering all of their options and yet you blame them for being dishonest?!

We knew well before the All-star game that Kings had conversation with Anaheim so really how could people not see this coming and blaming them after years of trying to get something done.

What exactly makes you think that this latest effort is any different to any of the previous ones?! Because KJ is involved?! There is no evidence to suggest this would be any different, in fact is anything, its looking to be just like all the proposals before it, a failure.

LOL. Gotta love that you didn't agree so you must not have listened mentality. What a crock. I simply don't agree that they've done their due diligence. There are no objective facts here to be right or wrong about. Just opinions based on what's happened and in my opinion, they're not giving Sacramento a fair chance here.

Oh Vey. Do you people even read before you respond? I clearly said “if they bungle it and nothing gets done then I could see that being the last straw and them filing next season. And I'd hardly be able to blame them at that point”.

That’s just a slippery slope argument. I never said they should wait around indefinitely. I said they should wait and see what happens with the current effort.

All of these questions you’re asking me were already answered in the post you responded to, had you bothered to read it. What’s different this time is ICON has a long history of getting things done. If Taylor didn’t think there was better than a puncher’s chance, he wouldn’t have bothered getting involved in the first place.

Not true thought. Taylor himself said this is a long shot, but he will give it a try!

"No way in hell this project is going to get done in any of our lifetimes without public help," Taylor said at a recent City Hall hearing.

Taylor is well aware of antipathy in Sacramento about asking residents to help pay for an arena.

The Land Park resident was one of the leaders of the failed 2006 ballot measure. He also pushed a short-lived plan a few years earlier to build an arena on K Street. And he was a member of the team that failed last year to pull together a complicated land swap deal for an arena.

Taylor is hopeful, but not optimistic, about coming up with a feasible financing plan.

"The odds on this deal are not good, and it does worry me it is more likely to fail than be successful," he said, "but that is not a reason to not work on it."

So really its not the first time he is involved in Arena planning and has been involved in a number of recent attempts. He also says that the odds of this failing are higher than of it being successful.

And if this attempt fails as its likely to do, and someone else comes up with another feasibility study, you would actually want to hang on to the most recent hope for Kings to stay in Sacramento

I know he said odds are against it but that could mean he thinks there's like a 40% of it getting done. I don't think he'd bother if he figured it was like a 1% chance. We've never really had the mayor, the city council, a developer, and The Maloofs on the same page before. We could have that now if The Maloofs would play ball but they won't. I find that very disappointing. I don't think they're giving this a fair chance. And I'm talking about now so no need to bring up what's happened in the past which we already know.

Maybe they are doing this. They are still here. There's been no announcement. Real quick on the trigger to blame them for doing nothing but being quiet. As to cooperating they gave data but not every bit of their financial records. You don't know what was given ICON/Taylor except what you chose to believe.

Let me add that I think KJ jas become the ultimate politician in saying whatever it takes to make himself look good to as many people as possible.

You know what Glenn? You're absolutely right. i don't know for a fact that that's what they're doing. I only know that all the signs are pointing that way. I'll tell you what though, if they are bluffing, they've got the best damn poker face I've ever seen!

Are you being sarcastic? I can't tell.
