I'd be very into it, I think IQ has a ton of ceiling, if that's the "all-in" bet, it's about as good as it could get. He makes every offense he's in, better.

I do love Jval, but he's not getting in the way of bringing in a IQ type player here, imo. If you can do it without him, absolutely, but that's the cleanest "TOR wants Malik and we want IQ" path.

I was listening to the podcast. They mentioned IQ and then Jake Gadon agreed.. After the call they all said they've heard its heating up, based on i'm not sure what? The salary matching around Monk and IQ feels strange. Also is IQ any more of a traditional pg than Monk? He's better but he also makes 32 million. 100+ million a year for IQ-LaVine-Demar sounds awful.
Only scenario I like IQ is something like
Monk and Duncan Robinson to Toronto
IQ and Raps filler to Sac
Demar to Miami
IQ - Keon - LaVine - Keegan - Sabonis
Carter - Nique - JVal
And then you grab another forward using the MLE?

There’s no justifying trading an unprotected pick to get he 13th pick in any draft that’s malpractice from a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in a while and the west got better.

Well I’m guessing it was for the same reason some of us did the same later. Can only play so many guys at one position. Trading one of our problems for one of theirs makes some sense but the small for big deal may be an issue.

I just don't get the hype. I'm trying to compare him to Monk, and I think you basically get the same player at a much higher cost. Realistically both are combo guards.
Monk - 17.2ppg, 3.8rbs, 5.6assists, 2.4 turnovers. 27 years old. 6'3. 3/60 left on his deal
Quickley - 17.1, 3.5rbs, 5.8 assists, 1.8 turnovers. 26 years old. 6'3. 4/130 left on his deal
I genuinely think that Toronto owes us value to make this swap. The contract difference is brutal for basically the same player.
Quickley grades out incredibly well in analytics and has basically shown at every spot in his career that he makes offenses a whole lot better. Guy was poised for a true breakout last year if he could have stayed healthy. He's absolutely a PG and a significantly better creator and shooter than Monk is.
I have no idea what a TOR trade involving Monk would look like, but he would be that "PG" everyone keeps talking about, linked to Perry and is a prime breakout candidate if he gets keys to the offense. I'd be in.

Toronto gets big name and 6th man.

Oh joy, it's the quarterly John Collins to Kings rumor. I would have been happy with a trade last off season, but I think I'm over him at this point.

Players I'd like to see drafted at 42: Martin, Lanier, Toohey, or Thiero. Keeping loading up on the physical tools.
I see some mocks are now predicting Zikarsky. Wouldn't mind it. There's definitely room for a project on the Kings right now. The potential is there for sure.
