I was driving home from a conference in Vancouver last year so caught the draft on the radio. Already kinda wishing I could just do that.

VJ could be a good player, but the Kings are lucky this is the year they lost that pick.

He is. It was very much two superstar level prospects and then a bunch of blah at the top of the draft this year.

It's a two player draft. Solid players all around but anyone that sees a super refined delineation are hella guessing this year.

Yeah but in most other years you can at least sorta squint and see a potential star. This year it’s like “can Ace Bailey not be inefficient for once?” And that’s it.

Also after last year was downplayed so much a lot of hype went into this draft only for the college season to start and folks said "well, not so much". It feels like last year had more prospects when all is said and done, it just did not have any obvious superstar.

I definitely got the feeling that last years draft was deeper into the teens. This year it's so so guards or dump off bigs. In a way it's probably a deeper 2nd round. The 2nd round last year was bleh, but this year 20-50 is a crap shoot.
