Not technically, but you can agree to release him (or buy him out) of his contract IF a trade of players is agreed to.

Papanikolau is no slouch. He's a good-sized SF who had a terrific year in Europe. Folks may think this is a total salary dump, but I think the Rockets got a real nice player.

just realised that the Lakers grand new additions to the team are Jordan Farmar, Wes Johnson and Nick Young. add that to losing a free agent they *really* wanted to keep for probably the first time in history and you have one sad offseason. maybe some of that voodoo is finally wearing off. about time really.

Interesting that Fab Melo was subsequently cut by Memphis and now Donte Greene has just been cut by Boston. Apparently, Greene is now bouncing over to China to play.
