[NBA] Comments that Don't Warrant Their Own Thread (December)

Russell Westbrook is just an amazing player. It's not fair that the Thunder have two stars in Durant & Westbrook. We can never get a break and get a player like Westbrook or Griffin. Sigh, maybe next year.

I'd settle for a Shane Battier... has anyone in the last six years made Mamba sing for his supper harder than El Dukie?

Yet another loss by LA. I love Shane Battier, I tell ya...that guy is just a hard nosed competitor and brings it every night. How I wish we could get him on this team or a player of his caliber. While it's great to see the Lakers losing four in a row, it's going to be a beatdown Friday night and they will take it out on us.

That was an awesome game. Battier is a scholar and a gentleman. Dude beasted all over them Lakers.

I imagine the streak ends at 4 this friday though. I'm not exactly confident in our team's ability to beat anyone, let alone the defending champs.

That's probably because Rose hasn't had a crossover that nice since his rookie year against Andre Miller.

He did Fisher pretty bad a couple days ago.. left him in a pantomime type freeze lol

ed: Man looks like the clips might give the spurs their 3rd lost of the season and get their 4th win..

Good for the Clipps. It looks like they will finally break their 19 game drought against the Spurs. I don't think we will see anymore domination like that by the Spurs vs the Clipps anytime soon as long as 32 is on that team. They have a real nice nucleus, I would trade ours in a heartbeat for theirs.

I think its unfair to give Blake the ROY. I know that technically he is a rookie but having spend a year with a team and just learning is a huge advantage. Dont get me wrong, he is pretty amazing but unlike John Wall he isn't learning on the fly.

Keep in mind that its very difficult for a rookie PG to come from being one year in college, to being made the face of the franchise and expected to run a team. Getting to know where players like their spots, when to give them the ball and when to be aggressive for yourself. If Griffin continues his stellar play as he has been so far, then yeah I can see him winning ROY. I really could care less who wins ROY, that's just an award and it does not make or break a players success in the future. I will be following John Wall his entire career. Blake, not so much.

I feel for Cleveland but is that really all the hatred they could muster?

Don't blame Cleveland. You can only sustain that sort of intensity for so long when you have you proverbial balls cut off before you even enter the arena. Not only that, but it's clear that the players themselves don't give a ****. I don't remember whether it was Kenny Smith or Charles Barkley who said it, but if things keep going the way they are, the Cavaliers are going to carry him out on their shoulders.

It isn't that Cleveland doesn't have enough hate, it's that they want their team to hate him, too, and the team couldn't be bothered.

Webber said it best
There aren't any more dogs in this world. Cavs bench laughing with dude that left y'all. Yeah that's funny. Grow some cajones... Anyway

everytime i watch another team play (cavaliers and miami in this case) im reminded of how much the kings actually do suck. Blowout on friday i think.

I dont think its cleveland lacking hate... i think they were disgusted that the home team The players representing them did not even care that this game was PERSONAL for the fans... I bet if those fans were capable enough i bet they would have wanted to play there all against james till he got tired :P

saw some pics and clips and all i can say that the Loyalty to homecourt, fans and team chemistry really is dead in todays game.. :(

I really wished cleveland to win that time but that was wishful thinking

If the score was tied, they'd probably boo, but since Miami took the lead from the start, their enthusiasm died. It wasn't supposed to be like that, but it was...

Dallas sure looks good this season, more than usual because they attempt to play defense this year. Who would of thought? :O. T-Wolves lose a 15 point 4th quarter lead to the Spurs and end up losing, epic collapse. I know their young and all, but they should of had that one. Knicks go on to win their 6th straight on the road, first time since 02-03 I believe. Kudos to New York, maybe this is the year they finally get back into the playoffs after a drought of almost a decade.

They've actually attempted to play defense for he past several years (really ever since Avery took over for Nelly).

Well they did play defense that year they got to the finals, atleast to a extent. Since then I haven't seen much, this year they are playing it again because they have players like Tyson/Haywood/Stevenson/Butler/Marion putting in effort on the defensive end and everybody else that didn't play d before like Dirk, Terry, Barea etc. are grasping the concept.

Don't forget Jason Kidd. The guy can still give lots of problems to most shooting guards in the NBA (although he rarely guards opposing point guards anymore). And he's still up aroun 2 steals per game too.

I didn't mention Kidd because he obviously is known for being a defender. What I was trying to point out was that the new players Dallas acquired from last season are all defenders to some extent. Caron isn't known for being a defender but when he wants to play it he can, it clearly shows he is putting in the effort.
