[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (OCT/NOV)

While Tyrese sleepwalks, Buddy Hield is feasting in GS.
Buddy on fire for 2nd match in a row for the Warriors... 6/7 3s 24points at halftime in 14 minutes of action.
It’s only a matter of time until the Warriors see who Buddy Hield really is and has always been. It’s inevitable.

A leopard doesn’t change it’s spots, especially a leopard at nearly 32 years old.

The dude with questionable ball handling and decision making skills will rear his head more often than not over 82 games.

I’ve admittedly been an OKC hater for a variety of reasons but their defense is just insane. Everyone crowned Wemby defensive player of the year but Chet might walk away with it, especially if they win 60 games.
And they're doing this without Hartenstein, who's one of the best defensive Cs in basketball himself.

They're so far ahead of everyone else in the NBA imo. Even Boston, doesn't have the depth to match them, especially if they can't get KP healthy

Even last night - Hield scored 21, but took 19 shots to do it.

Giannis used to be my favorite non Kings player but he is just annoying now. I know he hasn’t asked for a trade yet but this shouldn’t even be a thought in his head. The Bucks have traded absolutely all their assets to try and win (even though mistakes have been made) and they haven’t won anything the last couple years largely due to his health.

If the Nets capture the Flagg and get Giannis that would be something.

*googling intensifies*.
(The Nets actually get the Bucks pick if it ends up being 1-4)
the problem with trading Giannis to the Nets is they don’t have any blue chip young guys to send back to the Bucks. It would essentially just be a boatload of draft picks and how good would most of them be if Giannis is on the team. Gotta figure the packages will be better elsewhere if they decide to blow it up.

Teams really do overthink these things. Shooting is something you can teach at the NBA level. You really can't teach all the other intangibles Dunn has on the defensive end.
Not arguing your other points, just pointing out that a myriad of NBA prospects have been drafted or acquired over the decades with the idea that they could be taught to shoot the ball, or would otherwise eventually develop into a capable shooter only for it to never materialize despite all their other skills/traits.

I could probably list several dozen off the top of my head, easily, just KINGS related players over the past 40 years.
NBA-wide? That’d be way too large of a list.

Maybe. Tyreke Evans would like a word.
And Jason Williams.

Those two would have been near the top of my list.

First non-KINGS players that comes immediately to mind — and relevant to today — is Russell Westbrick.

It’d be an interesting discussion as to which skills are harder/easier to teach. Like many things, the answers are subjective and vary from player to player and situation to situation.

I’ve seen defensive deficient players develop into very good or great defenders. I’ve seen poor ball handlers and distributors become good ones.

I just feel like there’s been so many more instances of teams hoping a players jumper would come around that never did.

Yeah basically the entire G League roster of wings and guards is made up of two archetypes. Guys that can shoot and can't defend and guys that can defend and can't shoot.

The Pels are now missing their three most important role players for a few weeks, decimated most of their depth to trade for Dejounte Murray (also injured), let their solid center who always sorta helped them weather these injury storms walk to the Wizards in free agency, and their two best players play at their worst when they’re on the court together. Aside from losing Zion due to injury (just a matter of time there), this might be their worst case scenario.

Too bad we don't play them until February 8, 12, and 13 (crazy schedule!). Those would be nice games to have now....
