Reports KP is frustrated as an afterthought instead of being seen as a co-star. Lmao dude, you’re an afterthought because you’re terrible and a hollow shell of your former self.

At least they picked the right guy before driving the train headlong off a cliff. Lmao
Right, but that's just like us picking Reke and Boogie before promptly accidentally lighting the damn house on fire trying to boil an egg for breakfast.

It's certainly not his fault but Jokic's MVP win coming the day after his worst game of the season isn't awesome as far as optics are concerned.

Not as bad as when Nowitzki won it right after his team was eliminated from the playoff by the 8th seed Warrior

not sure of that, but I did see he is the lowest drafted guy ever to win the MVP.

who says the big man is extinct? this is great for the league and future NBA big men who will emulate players like Jokic and Embiid for decades to come.

congrats to Jokic, well deserved. Is he the first second round draft pick that has been named NBA MVP?

Willis Reed was the first pick of the second round in 1964, but he was the 8th overall pick. Moses Malone was drafted into the ABA and not the NBA, and he was taken in the third round, but there were only 10 teams at the time, so he was picked earlier than Jokic, even if it was a later round.

Outside of Jokic/Malone it looks like Nash/Giannis (both at #15) were the lowest-selected MVPs.

so in other words, he is the first second round NBA MVP

Well, Willis Reed was the first second-round MVP, there were just fewer teams then. It's definitely fair to say Jokic is the lowest-picked MVP.

it doesn't make much sense labeling Reed a second round player in a league with a low amount of teams. very flawed system back in the mid 60s to label it as such

Yes, they should have given each team in the league four picks in the first round so that draft rounds would be more easily comparable when the league expanded to 30 teams.

why have draft rounds at all? you're fielding a team of 15 players. unless it was less back then?

Shump’s winning at life. His girl just got voted Maxim’s sexiest woman alive AND he’s well on his way to getting another ring with Brooklyn despite not being on the team since February.
