Looks like there has been 30 games go to overtime so far this year. I wonder how that compares to say 2000/2001? It does feel like there are more blowouts because of shooting variance and they are boring to watch unless it’s your team. Still, I personally watch more nba games than I ever have. League pass has a lot to do with that though. I actually think the league is going to be insanely competitive moving forward thanks to player longevity, talent explosion and advanced analytics.

I went down this rabbit hole (using BB-Ref stats) using team minutes to estimate the number of overtime periods played per team, per season since '00-'01. The values are reasonably stable - between about 4.5 to 7 overtime periods per team each season, which translates out to between 67 and 107 overtime periods played in a season (correcting for 30 teams and 82 games...neither of which has been true every season). The overall trend is very slightly down.

(Note that in the BB-Ref *total* team minutes stats there are two years that show obvious data problems, '19-'20 and, oddly, this year, but *average* team minutes show that these two seasons are also in the normal range for OT periods.)

Can this be count as replacement of kuzma ?
Wikipedia shows both of them PF ?
it appears Washington took on Bagley’s contract just to add a few more draft picks. Rumor has it Detroit plans to rebuild like Houston and spend big in free agency so they traded for even more expiring contracts than they always have

When Bagley’s contract is up, I don’t think he get another guaranteed contract. I think he will be a JTA type guy, but in bad teams trying see if he’s figured it out.

Unfortunately he’s either dumb or doesn’t care. He has too much athletic ability to be this bad at actual team basketball.

He’s going to crush in the Big 3 in a few years.

maybe he can go and join Jimmer or Jeremy Lin in their respective leagues to get another pay day

He just doesn’t have a clear path to success. He can’t play center and can’t play on the wing either. Maybe he can have a trey Lyles type career? Pack on about 20 pounds and hit the three ball at a 40 percent clip. Energy big off the bench feels like the best lane.

I think OKC Enes Kanter is like his best case scenario. Offensive threat/rebounding threat off the bench at C, but can't play more than 15ish MPG because of he can't defend a pinecone.

maybe this is speculation on my part but since Marvin has entered the league, his body composition looks the same. Perhaps be packed on some more lbs by just being around professional sports and conditioning trainers but he doesn't seem like he puts in the work in the gym so whether that will change or not remains to be seen
