NBA Charity Game to Benefit Katrina Victims

I think the date is perfect. Helping victims of one tragedy on the anniversary of another. I'm just ready to see some great bball. Nice job kenny!

Sanityannex is more violent and flailing with his swings, but Slim probably has more accuracy, but less firepower behind each blow. In the end, Sanityannex tires out with his haymakers that don't connect. Slim wins on jabs to the side. TKO.
You are right, I am tired of this. Can we please drop this and stop quoting it to bring it up again. It's over. I simply stated "I" thought it could have been a different date, its called an opinion. Other people here are getting upset with it, so why not just leave it alone. Anything that can be done during this time of crisis is necessary, and everything being done by everyone, shows how caring we humans can really be.

Oh man!! I am of the plain jane glazed variety persuasion, myself. Maybe I will pick up an assorted dozen(s) for the picky people. That, of course, is if you a VERY, VERY, nice!

^^^and I'm glad we do!

I'm sure Krispy Kreme in LA was sad to see Shaq go.;)

You mean they're still in business, dude;)?! Well I guess they still have LAPD so they cool.
Hey chelle, do you deliver?:)

UMMM . . . Delivery is now being requested??? I would hate to take business from the Lakers/Sparks/ and Heat fans. THat would just not be very nice of me since we are going to (or did - Sparks) beat them this season.;)

Back on topic: The game is tonight!! I can't wait.

Just to clarify.....did I see where it is being played at 3 p.m. PT and not being televised (on TNT) until 8 p.m. PT? I don't want to miss it.

so what time is this actually going to be on TV? 8 et??

Here's what was posted earlier:

The game will be held Sunday, September 11th at 6 p.m. ET (5 p.m. CT) from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, and will be televised on TNT at 11 p.m. (10 p.m. CT).

CHECK your local listings for TNT. I'm on DishNetwork and we get the eastern feed so I'll be watching the game from 8 to 9 p.m.

Boy, I hate to be the one to break this to you...

The donut requirement is for Contributing Members. The newest CM has to provide donuts - at least virtual donuts - to any of the other CMs who request it.

(It's another benefit of being a Contributing Member, right along with the HUGE avatar.)

;)

I love requesting donuts to any new CM's. ;)

I am on Comcast, so I turned on TNT at 8 p.m. (which is 11 p.m. ET). No game. It has Law and Order showing.

They're showing it here. Great to see bball again! Maybe it's on at 11 your time too.

That could be, loopy. The guide channel is showing Law and Order on again at 9:00. I will just have to keep watching.

Just incase... SPOILERS. ;)

I knew Dahntay Jones would be ballin' :). Always wanted to see more of him. Grizzlies are still gonna be a good team this season, and be around the 6-8 spots.

Ron Artest looked damn good too. So great to see him on the court again!
Bunch of sweet dunks, and the long-three trading was cool at the end. It was interesting to see some of the guys who are with new teams in their unis, and hear the guys talk about the off-season and the upcoming season. No Kings/Spurs talk at all though.

Fun little game.

Kings113, thank you so much for you "SPOILERS" comment. I did not read any further down because I am still waiting for it to be shown here in Sacto. Thanks for the thoughtfulness. :)

6th - It will be shown at 11 p.m. on Comcast. I saw it at 8 p.m. because DishNetwork shows the EASTERN feed of TNT. It was well worth it!!!

Have your kleenex ready. It's great to see the basketball but the comments of some of the participating players are priceless, as are the shots of what they did earlier in the day...

And I really don't think you need to worry about "spoilers"... ;)

Thanks, VF21. I saw something (on CNN, I think) about some stars visiting refugees in Houston that had me on the verge of tears. I am sure this will push me over the edge if our guys were out there too. Our guys = NBA players.

If the commercial had you on the verge, then have TWO boxes of Kleenex handy...

And don't be surprised if you find yourself actually smiling at Kobe Bryant.

;)

^^ say it isn't so!! ;) That little boy just loved him, eh?

I saw it at 8 also. Nice relaxed game...put on a nice show for the crowd. Touching comments from the players too. Like Kenny Smith said..."Just a little time to be normal again."
