My video just aired on NBC!!

Two years ago I was hired to produce a promotional video for a radio show called “The Dream Doctor”. The show centers on Charles McPhee, former graduate of Princeton University, who interprets dreams from callers. When I produced the video the Dream Doctor was on two stations and within the next year he went on to 35. The show really is something else. We call it “more evocative nighttime radio”.

Around January of last year Charles started to notice he had trouble pronouncing words. The condition gradually became worse, and after a moth of seeing many different doctors, Charles was eventually diagnosed with ALS. For those of you who are not familiar with the disease, ALS gradually takes away nerve cells until many lose complete function of their muscles. Although life expectancy varies, the average is about two to seven years.

The video I produced is the only footage that exists with Charles in his prime, so you can imagine how touched I am to have produced it. Given his situation, The Today Show just aired the story and the footage seen of Charles on his show is what I shot. Enjoy.

All the footage I shot at the radio station - Charles takes two calls.

ALS is Lou Gehrig's Disease, right?

Anyway, thanks for sharing, Ryan. My thoughts and prayers are with Charles and his family.

Very well done. Intresting that the mind stays sharp.
Giving him a chance to write books. A inspiring story.
I'll look out for some of his writings.
Thanks for sharing.
