my 3 move attempt at an offseason

draft udoh if cousins is gone
trade spencer hawes for a defensive SG like Ronnie Brewer
Sign Carlos Boozer
i know everyone hates on boozer because of what happened in cleveland but this guy is a very good player. Hes a great rebounder, hes a good scorer, hes very consistent, and hes not injury prone. yes he will be overpayed but so what

Evans
Brewer
Udoh
Casspi
Boozer

Bench: The strength of our team...a high energy bench

Landry
Cisco
Beno
Greene
Jason Thompson
Brockman

So we'd have 2 power forwards in the starting lineup? No thanks. I wouldnt want to have to bring my #5 draft pick off the bench either. Again, No thank you.

I'm a huge Udoh fan, but he's not a center. If you trade Hawes, then you have to start Thompson at center. which is fine with me because I think he plays better at the center position anyway. But that leaves Udoh as your back up center. Which I think you can get away with to a certain extent. But when you match up with teams that have size you might be in trouble. Not saying it couldn't work, but its not my ideal lineup..

Any sg we acquire, whether through the draft or via trade, must be able to shoot the ball better than Ronnie Brewer. Better have a better handle than him to.

I like Brewer defensively, but want no part of his offense. If we go after another sg, we're doing it with the intent to improve our backcourt. We need to put a sg next to Tyreke who can hit the 3, handle the ball, or at least set up the offense, and is a good passer. Ronnie isn't any of those. While he's a good defender, and athletic, thats as far as I see his contributions going. He wouldn't help our spacing. He would hurt it. Tyreke would have a tougher time getting to the hoop with Brewers man playing off him. He can't help bring the ball up the court, or help with handling the ball when ou there with Tyreke. he can't break his man down and get to teh hoop that often. Decent passer. Nothing exceptional. I just don't see how he helps. I'm not a Cisco fan, but would prefer him next to Tyreke than Brewer, although at this point I like Beno next to him more than both.

I like Boozer, but how much do you want to throw at him? Not a max player IMO, nor do I see him signing here as a FA. I agree with bajaden that Udoh isn't a center. He could play a few minutes at the 5 here and there, but in no way is he a starting nba center.
