Yea. Since we're not much of a contending team we just need to have a "stable" player who will at least control some of the plays going on in the game. And he's not gonna have a shoot first attitude so that will definitely be a plus.

Who knows, he may suddenly start playing very well with us and maybe we can keep him in the future if he plays well. But that of course is optimism and a big IF.

I agree. Beno plays under control, something Shakur did not. Hence, his replacing Shakur is an upgrade in that important area at PG. Of course, his few years of NBA experience at age 25 is something to build on - hopefully.

I don't think Beno has any future with the league or with the Kings. However, the thing I like about this signing is that Beno is a stable veteran who will get the team into the offense and not take away from the development of the young players at all. If we had signed a splashy veteran or scoring PG who would demand shots and minutes, that would ultimatley hurt the progession of guys like Martin, Garcia, Douby and Hawes. Instead, Beno will get the ball where it needs to go, run the O and reward our young players for running the right sets. While he won't win us any games this year, he seems like a good fit for what we need to help the young guys get more PT and shots.

You see something similar in football a lot when a young offense will bring in a veteran QB, while their developing QB learns. Aside from not rushing the young QB into action and hurting his confidence, it also provides an opportunity for the young receivers to learn routes better and get rewarded by a veteran who can read progressions well and get them when they do the right thing.

Yup, Tony Parker having 3 championship rings as a main contributor, & an MVP finals to top it off, as a 25 yrs old NBA PG. It's quite hard to fathom that back in their teenage years as europe young prospects -perhaps around the age of 14-16 yrs old, Udrih was actually thought to be the more talented, potential, and prospectful of the two.
